We are a full service restaurant serving authentic Indian cuisine. The word "Darbar" means "Royal Court", and our goal is to treat each customer as royalty by preparing the very best recipes from the sub-continent. Indian cuisine is famous for its use of aromatic spices in an infinite variety. Contrary to popular belief, Indian dishes are not always "hot and spicy".
We use spices in subtle combinations to enhance the natural flavors of each dish. Each entree is prepared according to your request - mild, medium, or hot. Our menu includes the best recipes from both North and South India. From the North, we offer Tandoori dishes, baked in a traditional clay oven.

The best Indian restaurant in Appleton. The decor of the restaurant is not fancy, but the food is so good! Very vegetarian friendly, and if you tell them in advance, they can make the food vegan as well. My all time favorite is aloo tikki chaat, garlic naan, baigan bhartha, bhindi masala and mutter mushroom. For meat lovers, goat curry, lamb curry, or chicken tikki masala are great as well. I love their mango lassi in summer and masala chai in winter. I hope once we are back to normal, their lunch buffet can be open soon-- best way to try out new flavors.

I had the vegetable samosas, malai kofta, a side of parathas, and gulab jamun. Samosas were huge, crispy and well flavored. Malai kofta was incredible, couldn’t stop eating it. Decent portion, rice was surprisingly fluffy, and delicious koftas. Parathas were very flaky and good. Medium spice level is not very spicy (less than sriracha) so I recommend hot if you want it spicy. Gulab jamun had a strong butter/ghee/milky flavor that I was not expecting, but delicious nonetheless. It was also served hot, which would probably be better in the winter, but still worth it. Highly recommend!

A-ma-zing food. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken and Mushroom, and Lamb Vindaloo... with garlic naan and a mango lassi.
The flavors were amazing! The chicken was fork tender. The garlic naan was huge; bigger than a dinner plate.
Called and order food to go - wish there was online ordering, but not a big deal. When you call, they do give you the option of spicy, a little spicy, or mild food.
*sorry for the low quality cell phone photo.

On a Sunday night, thirty minutes before closing Darbar made us one of the best Indian dinners we have ever had. We ordered the Darbar combo grill and chicken 65. Trying to our hardest to have our order remain conservative was difficult given the selections, however, being so close to closing we forced ourselves into remaining polite. In preparation for our feast we brought a hot bag for transport. Please forgive there not being any pictures to show, the intoxicating scent convinced us to dine most hastily upon our arrival home. Our food was delicious! Luckily, our dinner orders came with naan

My gosh. This may have been the best Indian food that I have ever had and I've had Indian food worldwide. My husband is a very bland eater yet he fully enjoyed the meal. The restaurant was empty with only one person who was picking up an order. But the owner said that we could sit down (he was wearing a mask, thank you)! He was very prompt to bring out our drinks (husband got a soda I got an hot Indian tea). We were so hungry so we ordered: vegetable samosas, chana masala, shrimp masala, chicken tiki masala, a cheese pakora, pompadon. This all also came with white rice and naan bread. OMG

So up front I should share two things.
1. I went for indian today to try to drain my sinuses, as I've been battling some drainage issues leading to a sore throat.
2. A server at a different restaurant actually recommended I come here.
On to my thoughts:
It's a small little place: casual. I came in during buffet hours, picked a plate: then last minute decided to just order from the menu (you can almost never get stuff off the buffet that's very spicy). I ended up ordering my usual meal accompaniment: vegetable samosa and a mango lassi. For an entree I got the Chicken 65 (I

The food here is so flippin good I just had to bump up this star rating. I actually catch myself thinking about the food here on a pretty regular basis and I just can't leave this review at 3 stars.
The service the second time was great, everything was brought out really fast, our orders were correct and the food was so good I basically licked my plate clean.
I hear a lot of good things about their lunch buffet so I hope to try it out in the next few weeks.

Great food. I'm from Chicago area with lots of good Indian restaurants. India Darbar is as good as some of the best, if not better than most. The Chicken 65 is different compare to some I've had. I actually like the one from India Dunbar a lot. Like the sauce and the perfect level of heat and taste.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Appleton. We tried a variety of dishes on the recommendation of someone who know who lives in India. Some interesting options I would have considered. Their menu is extensive and I don't know what a lot of the dishes are like. Next time, our goal would be the lunch buffet to be able to try more options.
