The Florida School of Advanced Bodywork believes there is a fundamental lack of understanding, relative to how postural distortions directly and negatively impact the body. Many people are not aware that poor posture eventually leads to musculoskeletal pathology. Our Clinical / Medical Massage Therapy School uses structure & posture as a Core Focus for your therapy education.
Our approach to structural bodywork at our medical massage therapy school in Jacksonville FL includes addressing and eliminating postural distortions caused by muscular tension and myo-fascial imbalances. We believe the body's inefficient opposition to gravity can cause many forms of musculoskeletal pain.

Services
There is a large population of people who live with chronic pain on a daily basis. Many pain sufferers find relief through medical/clinical massage. Medical massage doesn't consist of any one particular modality but it aims to treat specific medical conditions such as tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis and chronic hip/back and neck pain.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You'll notice this and other pages indicate the focus of the Florida School of Advanced Bodywork is mostly on what many call bodywork. Many therapists and consumers use the terms massage and bodywork more or less interchangeably. But there is a difference in usage, explained below in this article.

Florida School of Advanced Bodywork is the best massage school! They have a wonderful curriculum and have flexible class times. Sean and Kimberly are the most talented instructors with years of experience. Thanks to them I just passed the MBLEX and am about to begin my new career. If you want to be a licensed massage therapist attend this school, you will not be disappointed!

I am so thankful I found this place! I went in barely able to move my neck/ shoulders and the tension was going down my back. Jessica was fantastic in relieving many of the knots. I was nervous bc this was my first deep tissue massage, but she was great at easing my worries and I never felt any pain. Victoria also was wonderful at the front desk and very helpful easing my worries.

Great place to try a student massage and experience the difference in the many techniques. Keep in mind they are still students so some may lack a little self confidence that comes with experience.
I strongly suggest this school for those seeking a career as a therapist. You Well learn more techniques and as you master them you well find how more seeking massage well be seeking your techniques.

I am a recent graduate from the Florida School of Advanced Bodywork. The instructors are very good massage therapists and great teachers. I received hands on instruction every week and one-on-one instruction due to the smaller class sizes. I had no trouble passing the licensing exam because of the education I received at this school. I'm grateful and honored to have gone to the Florida School of Advanced Bodywork!

My name is Nathan Fleming and I have been a licensed massage therapist for 14 years (MA#37304). One of the greatest experiences of my life was becoming a soft tissue manipulation expert (AKA:massage therapist). I graduated from the program in 2002. I received my education from some of the best instructors in the profession. Sean Ivan, Patty Lucas, and Kyle Wright all made a huge impact on my life and career.
Before becoming a therapist I worked in many fields. I was never really happy or satisfied with my work; in fact none of the jobs I held ever really excited me. For the past 14 years I have

This school is awesome! The instructors really care about your future career in massage. The classes are taught by instructors that currently work as massage therapist, not therapists that cant make it in the field. This education in Clinical Massage Therapy is going to put me so much farther ahead of other therapists in the industry! Thank you Kimberly, Marda and Sean.

Can't begin to describe how grateful I am for the education and trainings I have received under Sean Ivan and Kyle Wright's protocols - it has really advanced my practice as a therapist ultimately aiding in my patient's recovery and healing processes.
