Services
We are a team of Licensed Counselors with a strong commitment to helping others find ways to live their lives to the fullest. Broward Counseling is a full-time private practice. We have a vast history of experience working with people from childhood onward in individual, couples, family and group therapy.
Establishing a strong sense of self and truly loving yourself is a challenging task. Throughout our lives, we all go through times when our self esteem or self image can be put to the test. As children, school, sports and physical changes can create a great deal of stress. The transitions into and throughout adulthood also bring its pressures.
Anxiety and depression are very common and can even be experienced by children. Medication alone is a bandaid. Learning coping skills to handle these issues can be the difference between living a fulfilling life or a life of avoidance and isolation. We can help you learn the tools that will get you back on your feet.
Some children and adolescents need more support than others. Excessive homework, problems in the home, strong emotions, experimentation with drugs and alcohol, behavioral issues all can be addressed in the therapeutic process. Providing your child with the tools that they need to become a successful adult is a priceless gift.
Karen Wood, LMHC has worked within the family court system for 25 years. Parents who separate must still learn how to communicate regarding parenting topics. For some, this is not easy. Having a neutral third party assist you in learning how to transition into a more business-like parenting relationship can keep you out of court and will show your children that their parents can still communicate.

Wowwwww , 1 inviting personality on phone session then in person very demeaning, cutting & hurtful.....came away sader for her than my beautiful family, we were all present & just not a kind good person to deal with mental health patients. And like they say No worse furry than a psych seeing the glimpse of a mirror of themselves in the face of their all acknowledging patient. She did teach a few things & hopfully this message will do so for her & future patients.

My name is Ron Hansen and I am an attorney practicing Family Law in Broward County for 25 years. I first met Karen early in my career when I sought her assistance in a difficult situation. She immediately recognized the dynamics taking place and in a short period of time brought relative peace and harmony to the affected family. Since that first encounter I have sought Karen's help many times in high conflict cases. Most notably in areas of Family Reunification Therapy and Co-Parenting. She is both directive and strategic in her approach and gets results. However, it is not always something she

We came to Karen with some very serious issues. She is so effective in the way she approaches each issue. We have been seeing her for a little over a year and have seen positive results. We have realized that mental and behavioral health issues take time to resolve. It is a journey and Karen has taken that journey with us. She is professional, knowledgeable and genuine. We highly recommend her.

I started seeing Karen in September 2013, my choice based primarily on these lines in her Psychology Today profile: “I assist people in facing their life challenges with warmth and at times a touch of humor. I specialize in action-based problem-solving.” I needed help with an issue a family member was having, and finding coping mechanisms for myself on how to deal. I’ve always heard that if you don’t find the right therapist right away, keep looking. From her welcoming office to her warm conversational style, I felt an immediate and strong connection with Karen and knew that was

I began my counseling sessions at Roswood Counseling apprehensive, but, I must say, in all aspects Karen was succinct and professional. She was an excellent listener and Therapist. My sessions were therapeutic and economic. I recommend Roswood counseling to friends and strangers and I will use Roswood Counseling, if needed, in the future!
