C&M Auto Service was founded in 1984, when business partners Chuck Hartogh and Mike Starovich purchased Bill's Texaco in Glenview from Mike's father, who was retiring after 40 years.They quickly exited the gas business to focus exclusively on automotive service. This required a larger location than the site of Bill's Texaco, so they renovated the former Jennings Chevrolet and Wigglesworth Volvo showroom at 1723 A Waukegan Road in Glenview.

SIX STARS FOR C & M AUTO SERVICE! I moved to Glenview recently. I'm grateful to have found this extraordinary auto service business! Chuck/Owner is THE BEST. He provides customers with loaner cars (while their cars are being serviced). Everyone is friendly and welcoming. I was able to get an oil change, special winter weather windshield wipers, and more in an hour or so. Their prices are competitive, their service stands above the crowd. I've finally found my go to car place in my own neighborhood!!!

Love using C & M. They are excellent with servicing my car from routine to trouble. They always diagnose a problem even when my descriptions defy the ability to understand what I am saying!
Prices are very reasonable. Work done on time and well. When I need a ride or a loaner it is always available. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend them. You won’t be disappointed!

Went to my car, slipped key in and it was dead. Jumped it and it started. Called C&M and they told me to bring it in. Asked me if I needed a loaner or a ride. I stayed. They kept me informed of what they were doing. Every employee who walked by said good morning. Friendly people but more importantly they do quality work. In and out in about an hour.

I was recommended C&M by a friend and I was so pleased with their work. This is my 5th visit with them and each time they never fail to meet the high standards they set from visit 1. They fully inspect every time regardless of what I brought it in for and highlight necessary and urgent and inform what can wait for next time. Love their loyalty scheme which paid for my oil change this time around and the wash certificate is a nice touch. Great team, super friendly and very professional.

Marc and the Team at C&M went above and beyond to help us. We were in town for a weekend getaway and our minivan transmission died. When the cost of the repair was more than our vehicle was worth, they didn’t try to pressure us to do the repair, and instead allowed us to use their loaner vehicle for our entire weekend stay. Every interaction with them was professional and they were always incredibly helpful. We can’t say enough good things about C&M.

Outstanding service and staff! I took the car in for an oil change and they were able to identify a couple other maintenance items that needed attending to. They were very gracious to provide a ride home so I didn't have to wait or find a friend to help get me home. This may seem small, but this service is one of the reasons I continue to go there. The work on the car is always professional, well done, timely and completed in a friendly manner. I like the way they take the time to explain what has been done, and in a way I can understand. I highly recommend C & M without any reservations!

You hear so often of bad workmanship and unprofessional service that having my car serviced (again, I've used them before) was like a return to a world of civility, kindness and honesty. Not only did they do an excellent job with the repairs, their communications were timely, professional, and informative. I was experiencing a minor engine coolant leak, so I stopped by C&M Auto. I was greeted by Chuck. I found him to be both personable & knowledgeable. He recommended pressure testing the cooling system. I decided to just sell the car "As-Is" I highly recommend C&M, and will utilize them in the future.

Hard to fit wheels for new Tesla Model 3 performance with performance brakes as not a lot of info available. Worked with the staff and their distributor to find options and try fitment prior to mounting tires. They also carry Nokian H R3 winter tires hard to find.

So. I went into the shop as I had had decent service from them in the past, due to having a non-working washer fluid pump. I explained the issue, left the car, and was called saying that there is nothing wrong with it. When I picked up the car, I immediately tested the system, and it did not work. They took the car back in, looked at it again, and stated that it would be $300+ to replace this part.
I had priced a replacement part for my car a few days before, and could purchase it for $19 at autozone. A repair estimator for this service lists the cost at $150 at the high end.

I came here about 2 months ago because my boyfriend had changed my oil the night before and could not get the fuel housing cap off to change the filter. I called this place the next morning because it was already late and every auto shop was already closed. When I called them and asked if they could just loosen it up for me, they very nicely said yes. Most places are usually jerks when they realize they can't get money out of you, but they were not like that at all.

Outstanding service. Did not have an appointment however the wiper on the passengers side needed to be replaced. The team their replaced both at no charge since the wipers were under warranty.
Never hear of a warranty on wiper blades. The fact they replaced them with no labor charge really was a delightful surprise

C&M is about as good as an auto-repair service gets. I've been going since I moved to the north-side of Chicago, and I couldn't be happier that I found this place a few minutes from my office in the northern suburbs.
While I mostly get oil changes here, they are always friendly and willing to help out by offering shuttle service or a loaner vehicle (which I have only once possibly needed, and declined in favor of the shuttle). They are honest and do not try to sell you things that you don't need. It's refreshing to be able to go get an oil change and not be hassled
