BASIC Cremation Package is $995 + crematory charge for total $1,320, which is the lowest in Broome County. BASIC includes a copy of Death Certificate and basic urn in a decorative box. No urn Purchase needed. We use facts while other firms use fear, Mr. Savage is the most credentialed funeral director in the Twin Tiers.
While the Savage Funeral Service is involved with death on a daily basis, we never forget that completing all the necessary arrangements of a funeral service is a task most families face only a few times. We can't thank Peter and his team enough for the thoughtful, professional approach they took with the funeral service of my Uncle. They went above and beyond with only smiles to help us with anything we asked. During these difficult times they set up a zoom broadcast so relatives unable to travel because of COVID were able to participate. I've been to many funerals, but this one was for my Mom, who died from Covid 19. Peter was completely about making this terrible situation, into a healing time for the family. It wasn't about money. He has a genuinely caring heart and makes himself available, day and night for his clients. My Mom's last weeks of life were everyone's worst nightmare, and Peter was still able to give us a beautiful woman to say goodbye to. Not once did he treat her or any of us as if we were diseased. I was very pleased that they returned our call quickly and took a burden off my shoulders. Peter Savage, the man who took care of us, made this sad event a little easier with his experience and empathy with our situation. His obvious experience helped guide us through all the decisions we had to make during a stressful time so I am very glad we found him to help us deal with our loss. I can't say enough about how happy I was to have chosen Savage-DeMarco for my Mom's cremation. I live in San Francisco so was handling her arrangements long distance . A year earlier, when my mom's health was rapidly failing, I found it very convenient to have been able to fill out a pre-arrangement form online and speak to Peter Savage personally about possible arrangements. When she did pass a year later, Peter remembered our conversation and was incredibly responsive, compassionate, and accommodating in every way. Savage Funeral home is by far the best funeral home in broome county. My mom passed away November 12th, 2017 and Peter Savage treated me like family. As he has with three other funerals he's done for my family. He answered every question and talked me through the whole process. He makes it so easy to deal with this hardship. If you need a funeral director call Peter you won't be sorry.

This review is based on the new organization--Savage DeMarco. this is the result of a merger between 2 funeral services. I did not work with this location but did work with the Endicott location. This should not matter since the same people are running both funeral homes. To gain efficiencies they are using an answering service. An operator wanted to know which location I was working with.
