Our mission now is the same as it was then: to be a friendly, neighborhood style bar and grill where people of all ages and walks of life would feel welcome and could enjoy a consistently high level of food, drinks and service. Don't expect anyone to look like you, or for that matter, look like each other at Cromwell's Tavern.

Located as we are in the gateway to "Chateau Country, " Cromwell's is called "home" by many of the Wilmington area's most respected families and individuals, but as Eric Ruth of the News Journal said, "don't let the location fool you. Our cozy, upscale atmosphere, award-winning food, oversized drinks and friendly service have been bringing our customers back time and time again since that first November day.
Services
Served with choice of French fries, housemade chips, coleslaw or power salad with apple cider vinaigrette. We proudly serve Coleman antibiotic-free chicken. Mexican rice, tomato, refried black beans, cheddar jack cheese and scallions, wrapped in a large flour tortilla served with lettuce and sour cream, served plain or smothered with ancho chili cream.

Had a great dinner. Love the winglets, and the enchiladas in red sauce were delicious. The martini was huge & made to perfection. Can't wait to return for another great evening. Monday is half price wine! It's a cozy spot that I have been going to for years. I love it there!

I’ve always experienced good food and friendly, personable service and a good strong cocktail. That’s a winning combination for me in a casual atmosphere. Kudos to the bartender and server Liz. They helped make an impromptu dinner out with a girlfriend fun.

965th different cheesesteak in the last four years. Guest Eater Amigo Dan. It was a good’ish restaurant cheesesteak but I was expecting a lot better from Cromwell’s and Greenville, DE. Dupont heirs live in the neighborhood. Good more dinner roll than a traditional roll. The meat was decent but dry in spots. It needed more cheese. They didn’t kill you with a price of $12.95 (especially in Greenville). It does come with good french fries. I guess they were understaffed with only 2 people serving.

Cromwell's is an interesting place. It's a Mexican Taqueria that resides it what looks like it should be a 19th century English Pub. The drinks vary depending on what you get. I had the house Old Fashioned which was average, but I also had the spiced pear mule which was excellent. The service is great. Even though it doesn't quite make 5 stars, it is an interesting place and worth a visit.

Great food, great service and awesome service. Half the menu is American gastropub and the other half is Mexican, but all is done well! We have been there several times and always had a great meal. Our server Liz was on point and super helpful!

Cromwell’s is a favorite restaurant of ours. Despite living in Bear now, we try to go every week, sometimes more than once. The bartenders Dave and Mark are personable and make the best drinks! The new bartender Liz has been a wonderful addition, and all of the staff are always friendly and welcoming. All of the food is excellent with the chicken winglets being the app we order every time, we have never been disappointed with anything on the menu and the kitchen staff are very accommodating to requests. My only wish is that they would bring back the crab dip!

Came here for a work happy hour with a big group. We were outside on their patio, tented area. In general I'd say the spot was okay.
I think the margaritas were just super sugary and didn't really have that much flavor.
The food was also just okay. Lots of fried and oily foods.
It really is just "okay"

From the margaritas served up by our bartender Mark, to my “next level” tamales, and finishing up with tres leche cake, this was a great experience! Our server Bridget was the bright side of a rainy day, we are glad we stopped in for a late lunch after our tour of Winterthur. Highly recommend the tacqueria side of the menu!
