Care Animal Hospital is here to give exceptional care to the ones you love, to meet your needs, and provide your pets with better health and long life. Care Animal Hospital has helped thousands of dogs, cats, birds and other pets achieve happier, healthier lives from our Temecula office. Yes, we are open and ready to serve you and your animals!

As a medical facility, we already have strict guidelines and protocols in place to protect the health of our clients and staff. Care Animal Hospital was founded in 1991, with the purpose to provide exceptional care for the pets you love. Since we were established, we have focused our efforts at building a reputation with the local Temecula community as the premier veterinary hospital in the Inland Empire.
Services
Care Animal Hospital was established in 1970 to provide quality veterinary services for animals in the Temecula Valley and surrounding areas. We are here to give exceptional care to the ones you love, to meet your needs, and provide your pets with better health and long life. We've helped thousands of dogs, cats, birds and other pets achieve happier, healthier lives from our Temecula office.
Growing up in Denver, Colorado, at age eight I witnessed my dog Blackie being hit and killed by an out of control car in my front yard. I decided then to dedicate my life to helping family pets. My wife, Nancy, our four children, and I moved to Temecula in 1991 where we established our small animal and exotic practice.
At Care Animal Hospital, we offer a variety of services to help your dog, cat, bird, or exotic pet. Our doctors and staff provide the best veterinary care in Temecula, CA, by individualizing treatments based on your pet's condition and needs. While we diagnose every pet through 1-on-1 examinations and appointments, below is a list of our standard services.
At Care Animal Hospital we treat mostly dogs and cats. If you don't see your type of pet listed, just call us (951) 676-4690. Care Animal Hospital recommends spaying or neutering puppies, kittens and bunnies between 4-6 months, as long as they are over 2 pounds. Current veterinary literature shows there are proven medical benefits to spaying and neutering at this age including reduced incidence of some cancers and infection.
We take great care at Care Animal Hospital to provide Temecula's safest anesthesia process for dogs and cats. However, it's important to first evaluate certain risks and precautions. For several different procedures in pets, anesthesia is used to curb the animal's nerve and sensory response. It numbs any part of the body, putting your beloved pet into an unconscious state.

***WARNING*** DO NOT GO HERE! ***THEY ARE DECEITFUL AND MONEY BASED*** ZERO STARS***
My stepdaughter had a pet mouse who we could clearly see developed tumors. We wanted to put him down humanely, despite that he was just a feeder mouse. I called to inquire if they would do that and if so what the cost would be. I was told $55. Yikes, that was certainly more than I wanted to pay but I was told it was because an exam was required. I decided to call a few other places but as expected most veterinarians did not perform such procedures on mice. We made the decision to go ahead and make an appointment

The doctors and staff are absolutely amazing! We've had some bad experiences elsewhere but with the fear free atmosphere they provide, all my babies love coming to the vet now!! They take time with them, talk to them and treat them as their own. I love it here and I won't go anywhere else.

Very troubling occurrence at this facility today. My 21 week old large breed dog was bitten by a rattlesnake. They agreed to provide services, made me wait outside for 2 hours while my dog"s health declined, then finally sent me off saying it was getting too late and to head to a more expensive and staffed hospital for 24 hour service. Flawed workflow and obviously Dr's without empathy for the suffering of animals.

The attendant was fantastic, but it was difficult for her to even see the way we were tread as customers and patients. Very disappointing.

Our first visit here today with our boy, Spirit. I can not even put into words how absolutely amazing one of the Vet Techs, by the name of Tricia is. This wonderful gal is not only sweet and truly adorable but her skills and knowledge of her profession is phenomenal. I never even met the Vet today, due to Covid restrictions, but the trust and confidence I had in Tricia, with our pup, definitely set my mind at ease. This Animal Hospital is truly lucky having someone like her in their employ.

We took our bird in because he was bleeding or had some kind of wetness on his head and we were unsure as to what happened. Our guess was may be a bug bite or he was exposed to something as this injury occurred in his cage by himself. Petey was hospitalized for a day we spent $700. I was told that the bird was doing great and had improved. I have pictures before I dropped my bird and I have pictures of after I brought him home. I am putting both pictures in here so you can see. After picking up my bird and seeing his condition I Immediately took him somewhere else where they placed stitches in

My poor corgi fell off the back of my SUV and snapped a claw off. He was bleeding pretty bad and neither of the two local vets where he is a patient could see him today and encouraged me to go to Urgent Care. I didn't love that idea as it's further from my house and when I called, it didn't feel right so I found Care Animal Hospital. It is conveniently located near Target and in the Nash Dental Care parking lot. Although this pet clinic is an bit old looking, the staff was kind and caring and fit us in even though I know they too were very busy and had no openings. They took care

I recently brought my bird into this office and I am extremely upset about the care they gave my bird. I took my bird into this vet because I noticed he was bleeding on the back of his head and he needed to see a vet. They kept him over night and I picked him up Tuesday afternoon. I am extremely upset I spent almost $700 on him just for him to come home worse. He came home with missing feathers on the back of his neck witch I know he didn’t pull out himself. I think the doctor removed some of his feathers. The doctor told me he was doing way better than before witch was a lie. The doctor also

I am extremely unhappy with the services that I received from this animal hospital. I dropped my bird off here because he was seeping from the head and we were unsure as to why. They wanted to keep him overnight to observe and treat him for swelling and irritation. While he was in their care I called and checked in and they told me my bird was doing great he was leaving his cone on and he was improving. Of course the doctor calls and tells me that I can come and pick up my bird that he's improved he's not 100% sure what happened he thinks it's probably chemical related. Of course

I am new to Temecula so I had to find a Vet for my three cats. I chose them because they immediately called me back where the others I called didn't.
They are so kind and caring.
They do follow up calls to see how your pet is doing.
I highly recommend them.

TERRIBLE - TERRIBLE - TERRIBLE. GO ELSEWHERE.

15 yr old dog had 17 teeth removed, and he was crying in pain at pick up. I asked front staff for the vet to give pain meds, and the "nurse" came out and said it was close to closing, it is impossible for my dog to be in pain because of a "nerve block". I was told pain meds were in the take home bag, and my dog would settle down once he was in the car. That was all CRAP. After two hours my dog was still suffering so I took him to a pet ER. ER doc informed me the pain meds were nothing more than NSAIDs (OTC) and the nerve block

My sweet little girl stubbed her toe over the weekend and broke a toe nail. We took her to a different vet and they all told us she needed X-rays and surgery without taking the time to actually look at her nail and explain what happened. At care animal hospital, Dr Joe took the time to explain it to us and also found a much easier solution that didn't require her to be put under anesthesia (and much more cost efficient). We were so incredibly relieved to know that she was in great hands, she's back home with us now!

Please don't take your pet birds here! I can't speak for any other animal, but when it comes to birds please don't take them here.

I have a young lovebird who has been vomiting for 7 months (and yes, I know the difference between vomit and regurgitation). I've taken her to this place about 5 or 6 times now, each time the doctors will insist on it being hormonal. But over the past few months it's just gotten more aggressive vomiting and it will fly all over her face and feathers. All that she's done lately is sit fluffed up and sleep. It's so sad to see your

EDIT FOR OWNER: As a disabled veteran, one thing i know that i never mess up are appointment times for medical reasons. when i was active duty, showing up at the incorrect time was a massive inconvience for all parties involved. if someone showed up 30 minutes early for duty, the other watchman still cannot be relieved, so i know for a fact that i was told "10 am, show up 15 minutes early." i did this for years and never had this issue. I was told on the phone "10 Am" and i came at 9:45. When i walked in, i said "Im here for a 10 AM"
if your records indicate differently, that speaks volumes of

First place where I take my pet and the vet see's her as a living soul instead of a dollar sign.

Dr. Murphy spent over 30 minutes explaining our dog's health status with all the patience and all the time in the world.

With this service, I'll ask my insurance if I can make Dr. Murphy be my PCP! For sure he'll give me 25 extra minutes than my current doctor.

All in all great experience.

They're going to have to pull some of our dog's teeth and we'll make sure to report the experience.

Definitely recommend!!!

I highly recommend CARE Animal Hospital - Dr Alcorn could not have been kinder or more thorough in checking out my young hen, Violet. I also appreciate the care options he gave me to treat her. There are very few veterinarians who understand chicken care - I will definitely be back if any of my other animals need care.

They also have very good COVID-19 protocols in place which I appreciated.

I can't say enough how grateful I am for Care Animal Hospital. Our YorkiePoo "Gracie" was yelping in pain and had a fever. After failing to get an emergency appointment with our vet, Vail Ranch Veterinary Hospital, we called Care. Even though they were fully booked, they were gracious enough to make room for Gracie. It turned out after X-rays, that she had 2 bad disks in her spine and an ear infection.

I can't say enough good things about Care and they will be our vet going forward for our 2 dogs.

They saved my guinea pig!
My guinea pig, Pinkie, was very sick, and was dying. The vets, and technicians were very calm when communicating the options of treatment. They made sure that my mom and I knew the risks and the benefits of treatment and they were with us through every step.
If it wasn't for Care Animal Hospital, I would be burying one of my best friends.
If you're looking for an exotic animal hospital, this is it! They're trustworthy, reliable, compassionate, and communicative! Dr. Murphy and his team are heaven-sent!
God Bless them!

We love Care Animal Hospital. Dr. Alcorn and staff took such great care of our boy Cabo and were able to nurse him back to health. After hearing our pup was not doing so well, I was distraught, but the staff went out our their way to FaceTime me so I could see him and even texted me videos and pictures regularly. Thank you Dr. Alcorn, Kelsey, and staff for your love and care for our boy and for going to extra mile to give us updates and make us feel at ease!

We have a pet bearded dragon, which is our very first family pet. She developed tail rot and an infection that made her beard swollen. Felt horrible as a new pet owner to see her in this condition. I called around several vets and went for something that was the most reasonably priced and that treated lizards. Care Animal Hospital was the best in initial exam fee. I took her in and they did great diagnosing her. She needed a small amputation and some antibiotics. They were able to do everything the same day and the cost was fair. This was a good experience and am more open to getting another pet

The best exotics vet I've ever has the pleasure of working with. Doctor Brian Murphy and staff were absolute fantastic. I brought in a very sickly boa constrictor who I was rescuing. She was in very bad shape and the magic the staff were able to work with her was amazing. I will be using Care Animal hospital for all my pets not just exotics. Thank you everyone.

Great service, great care. Easy online scheduling. The communication from all staff is excellent - from scheduling to a call from one of the veterinarians post-visit (well pet check).

The cleanliness of patient exam rooms and reception has always been unquestionable. I have no doubt that it's still like that, even though we are unable to enter clinic for now.

The best thing is the sense that everyone sincerely cares about their patients! I don't feel silly asking questions about how to motivate my guinea pig to get more physical activity!

I had a micro rooster who was my best buddy. Unfortunately we had to put him to sleep. When calling care animal - Elizabeth answered. She has ZERO EMPATHY!!! This woman is rude and has zero sympathy for your situation. I would have easily given this place 5 stars! Dr. Murphy was a gem! So so sensitive to my story, the nurse was amazing and so so caring. I have called again since then needing help. And again, Elizabeth answered and she is just the absolute wrong person to be on the end of the line. Rude, and heartless. This is the face of your establishment? All my future vet needs will go to another

I will definitely take my other pets there if needed for anything else. Thank you guys!!
