Estes Park Family Photography specializes in family portraits in Estes Park, CO. Based in the heart of the Rockies and just five minutes from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, the studio specializes in photographing people in their element. Your portrait session will generally be a mix of reportage and posed photos.
Most of the sessions take place in Rocky Mountain National Park, but there are other places we can go with your family in case of traffic, weather, if the groups are extremely large, or if mobility issues prevent us from getting into the backcountry. For family portrait photography in Estes Park, I tend to take people on a hike and shoot them in some of the incredible landscapes surrounding this beautiful town. I've got a lot of "secret spots" picked out that I shoot at a lot in Rocky Mountain National Park and the surrounding areas. All these areas offer fairly easy access to lakes, rivers, mountain vistas, aspen groves, fields of wildflowers, and other amazing views.
Estes Park is an incredibly popular place for family reunions, and every summer, hundreds of families have huge gatherings here in one of the most beautiful places in Colorado. Estes Park sports a tons of fantastic venues, from huge hotels to medium sized lodges to smaller vacation rental homes. They're all great for family reunions.
Despite focusing on family portraits, we also offer headshots and environmental portraits for companies, executives, authors, doctors, lawyers, actors, and anyone else. The headshots are basic head and shoulders portraits on an constant background, while the environmental portraits are more complex shots with varying lighting, locations and poses.

We came to Estes Park with our 3 Golden Retrievers during Covid-19 and while the smoke from the wildfires interfered with many of Nathan’s usual views, Nathan was professional, friendly and worked hard to give us our money’s worth. He’s a busy guy and finds time to get it all done. We were lucky he found time to edit our photos quickly, and we had them the next day vs 4-5 weeks like he told us it could be. The photos are fun and beautiful. My daughters, who are the experts in photo editing, love the way Nathan edits his photos in comparison to other photographers, because they are natural

We just received our family pictures and are blown away!! Nathan is so very easy to work with, has a great personality, is unbelievably talented and made the whole process super easy and fun! He was great working with our 3 boys and we had a lot of laughs along the way....we will forever treasure these beautiful photos and memories he captured.

While on vacation at Rocky Mountain National Park we thought the best souvenir would be some family photos in the mountains. We were right! Nathan was awesome to work with. We had a few kids that were getting a little grumpy and Nathan just kept everything positive and fun. Our photo session felt more like an adventure than a photo shoot and we couldn't be more happy with the images. I can't recommend Dreamtime Images enough!!

Nathan did our family photos in Estes Park recently. We loved working with him and the pictures are jaw-dropping. We will treasure these for a long time! Nathan has been our family photographer for years now. It all started when he photographed our wedding nearly a decade ago. And since then, he regularly photographs my wife and 2 daughters. We had an absolutely amazing experience with Nathan! He was patient and kind and even met us a second time after one of our kids got sick during the photo shoot. Our pictures are amazing! Our family photo shoot with Nathan was awesome! Not only are the pictures just amazing but he made the whole event a truly memorable experience.
