Services
In 1973, Dr. Edward J. Oliver purchased a small house in rural Clarkston, Georgia. The two bedroom home had previously housed a child day care center, but Dr. Oliver had no problem envisioning his future animal hospital there. After weeks of planning and hard work, separate rooms for surgery, treatments, and kenneling of family pets had been completed.

The Dr.is knowledgeable but does not have good systems nor adept at training new employees. Very demeaning.I believe she has the onset of Parkinson's. Do not allow the scalpel to slip on your pet.Not only that but I worked there about 8 hrs and as he has yet to pay me. Do not board your dog here. There was a black lab the 2 days I was there and he was so depressed. They take the boarders out 3 times a day But only to go to the bathroom. They are not walked or exercised. The total time outside the cage does not exceed 30 minutes.

Took my dog here today for the first time. Overall experience was okay. Best part was I called and was able to get my dog an appointment the next day, whereas every other nearby vet was going to be 2-3 weeks. Discovered why, the place is way more expensive. I took my other dog to thrive for an annual visit, and the total cost for the physical, vaccines and routine tests was $124. The cost for the same services at church st. was $240. The physical exam alone was $25 at thrive and $68.50 at church st, both for dogs new to the practice. I feel a little robbed. Quality seemed about the same, just as

Exceptional veterinary care!
Dr. Cindy Fordyce is straightforward, knowledgable and caring. Her assistants are equally attentive and very pleasant to work with. Everyone in the office seems care deeply for the animals that come through their doors. The receptionists can be a little tricky to get ahold of over the phone, but call back or leave a message... they're very nice and also very busy :)
My 5 year old dog is very important to me, but with a mortgage, a baby almost here and the uncertainty of my work because of covid, we have to budget for pet care (and everything else in our life

We have been taking Patron to Dr. Fordyce for more than ten years. She is a fantastic vet with years of experience, which make her practical and compassionate. Dr. Fordyce, Gary and Susan are very professional and friendly. They are always great to work with. Dr. Fordyce will provide you the right advice and will never suggest anything that is not strictly necessary. I do not trust Pookie to just anyone, so now that we moved an hour away, I am still driving to make sure he gets seen by Dr. Fordyce. I cannot recommend Church Street Animal Hospital enough!

My pets have gotten outstanding care here. And when I lost a long time pet to illness I could feel the compassion and geniune love. I now have two pets I rescued and Church Street Animal Hospital gave me a discount on their shots and start up care. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Shout out to my pet's doc ... Dr. Fordyce.

My sweet angel, Ernest, has been a patient of Dr. Fordyce since we moved to the Decatur area, about four years ago. Our beloved vets in Athens recommended Dr. Fordyce to us, as they attended vet school with her at my alma mater, the University of Georgia.
I've noticed two trends in the reviews of Church Street Animal Hospital--reviewers who say Dr. Fordyce is the most competent vet ever and reviewers who say she is rude. Personally I agree that she is an incredibly competent vet. I am surprised by those who say she tries to up-sell them. She is actually very respectful of her patients

This place is absolutely filthy! The staff is completely disengaged. The front desk receptionist is very nice but she is clearly the exception to those that they hired to work here. The doctors try to upsell you on every possible service.I actually witnessed one of the doctors swearing at the receptionist at the front desk while they were other clients in the waiting room. Her rudeness is clearly contagious with the rest of the staff. Time to find a new veterinarian. And by the way, you can't schedule any service more than four weeks out because they "don't have the schedule yet

I am a former employee, and this was the worst place I've ever worked in my life! Dr. Fordyce is EXTREMELY rude to her employees, plays favoritism, treats employees like slaves, and treats them like they are nothing, even in front of clients! She has a high employee turn over rate because people get fed up with her cruelty, and the negative environment she creates, and they quit!! It's like, no matter how hard your work for her, how much you bend yourself for her, it's never good enough! One wrong move and you become her biggest enemy. I initially wasn't going to write this

The staff at this office are professional and caring. I have been going to this office for years with my Sheltie. Dr Fordyce is compassionate and knowledgable! I always feel confident that my pet is getting the best care possible. They understand that there can be two patients. When your loved pet is not well, they know their owners are stressed and concerned. They make sure both you and your pet leave feeling better. They take the time to explain what is being done at the visit and to make sure you understand why this will lead to a healthier outcome.

I have been going here for years. but in the past few years the pricing has skyrocketed, probably due to the area becoming more wealthy. The doctors are nice and knowledgeable but they are way too quick to recommend expensive diagnostics like ultrasound and x-ray without any regard for the customer's financial limitations. Having received second opinions, many vets say ultrasounds are expensive and unnecessary in many cases. They have also refused to due certain procedures without layers of expensive diagnostics. Sometimes they almost border on "shaming" you for not taking their

In the words of a reviewer below, and I couldnt agree more:
"Dr. Fordyce is hands-down the most capable vet I've ever interacted with. She has such a calming effect on animals and works hard to put nervous pets at ease."
Im one of those people who are totally irrational about loving my dog Biggie. If he breaks a nail at 2AM, Im going to the emergency room. Biggie is my life and I love him more than anything in the world. You can imagine the crazy 100mph+ trip we took to the nearest vet after he sniffed the wrong wasps nest last summer and his head swelled up like a basketball

I've been going to CSAH for over 10 years. Dr. Fordyce is hands-down the most capable vet I've ever interacted with. She has such a calming effect on animals and works hard to put nervous pets at ease.
My current dog is very healthy with few issues but Dr. F is still very thorough and consistently coaches me to watch weight and dental health. No visit is ever a "check the box" experience.
I had major health issues with another dog and Dr. F was able to diagnose, treat or refer me to specialists in each situation. She handled several emergency surgeries and stayed up to speed

I love CSAH. I have four cats, and they are spoiled rotten. I had been on the lookout for a great vet for some time when I tried this one, and took my then new kitten Alexi there for his first appointment. They are not the cheapest or the most expensive, they are not the fanciest, most high-tech or the most backwoods. But they know animals, and the staff are very gentle and friendly, both to animals and their humans.
I will break here and say that Dr. Fordyce leaves a little something to be desired in the way of human interaction. She is not mean, per se. She came in and examined Alexi, then
