Provide municipal legal services as city attorney for the Cities of Blythe, Costa Mesa, Fullerton, La Habra, Westminster and Whittier and as General Counsel to the Gateway Cities Council of Governments (COG). Serve as general counsel to Redevelopment Agencies, Joint Power Authorities and other special agencies.
As special counsel we provide particularized legal services on an "as needed" basis including, but not limited to, conducting internal affairs investigations, reviewing administrative investigations, prosecuting disciplinary proceedings, advising on unique and/or unusual personnel matters, serving as counsel to personnel boards and/or civil service commissions, and representation on various bargaining issues, such as unit modifications.
Jones & Mayer provides a full array of City Attorney services to our client cities. These services include attending all Council and Planning Commission meetings, and such other meetings as are designated by City Council, providing comprehensive legal advisement to the City Council, City Manager and Department Heads, drafting and reviewing ordinances and resolutions, contracts, policies, memoranda of understanding and other legal documents.
We provide full service as a City Prosecutor to multiple cities throughout California. These services include providing advice and guidance to various city departments, and communication with alleged violators, in an effort to informally resolve disputes and, when necessary, prosecuting a variety of municipal code violations in criminal court ranging from complex nuisance abatement matters to unkept property.
