Our founder Ross Katz grew up in the North suburbs of Chicago, in a family of self-starters and entrepreneurs. That trait came to define Ross. As a young child, he was always one to wake up early and get a move on the day. Which is where Ross earned the nickname Rooster. Growing up with parents who met and were married while working in the restaurant industry.
A strong love for food and hospitality was instilled in Ross from an early age. This love of food and the family's strong entrepreneurial spirit cemented Ross's desire to open a restaurant of his own. So, at the young age of 14 Ross began his journey in the hospitality business. He knew, that in order to be successful he would have to start from the bottom and work his way up.

First time visiting, got Sunday lunch. Nothing to write home about, honestly. I'll try again at some point since their menu seemed promising but this visit left me "meh". I don't know how the sections work but it seemed inconvenient to not sit directly in front of the door. Hot chocolate didn't get made before being brought out. I drank about half of it thinking "Wow this room temperature chocolate beverage is really bad." Then I noticed there was a mountain of powder in the bottom of the cup. Again, nothing to call the cops about just seems like laziness. The Mac and cheese was alright, I got

Tried Rooster's for the first time and will definitely go again. The Classic Burger was well seasoned and juicy paired with fried potatoes for a tasty lunch. The Brisket Melt was the perfect blend of tender brisket, sautéed onions and melted cheese on toasted Amelia bread and paired with House made chips-delicious. You can find Rooster's at the far end of Mass Ave close to the new Bottleworks area making it convenient to other businesses and with plenty of parking options.

So I first tried their vegetarian breakfast sandwich and lavender biscuits and gravy at the farmers market - delicious! And they gave me a coupon for $5 off at their restaurant. Went here and ordered the Big Shoulders salad -just one to split because my bf was skeptical - and we gobbled it up and even considered buying another one!! The beef brisket was so wonderful and crispy and the dressing was delicious, everything was fresh and fast, the pickled cauliflower was amazing in there too. Cute homey atmosphere and they played indie music. Overall delicious, probably a little pricey for some items

I've had lunch here. I've had dinner here. I've had holiday meals with my mom here. I've had massive celebrations with clients here. Every time, it's hits the mark on a dime. Price, service, quality, taste. Just pick your poison and it's likely on the menu. They've got chicken too. And while that's everybody's poison, I've never ordered it. There are too many other staples on offer, and I've got plenty of chicken at home.

Dang Daniel. Rolled in at 15 minutes prior to kitchen closing and had one of the best meals I could have hoped for after a long day on the road.
Started with the BBQ Belly Bites, then the Buddha Bowl with free shavcado and an egg, and then closed it all out with a Bread Pudding. Each was more scrumtrulescent than that which came before.
There was almost nobody in the joint on a Saturday night, and that sir, is a crime. Give this place your money. It will give you a round tummy in return. Like a happy Buddha.

I'm always bewildered that I never hear Rooster's come up in a brunch discussion, because their brunch is out of this WORLD. I'm over vibey, overpriced brunch that is not that good. Give me good food and great service! Rooster's has a phenomenal food spread, a bright, open space, plenty of amazing beers and cocktails, and last but not least, wonderful staff. This is a great place to start a fun day, being that the location is at the top of Mass Ave by the Bottleworks. Eat your fill of delicious, savory food, and work your way down the lovely amenities of Mass! You cannot miss

We've had dinner here multiple times, and everything has been great. The homemade chips are awesome! Got to try brunch for the first time, and we all enjoyed our orders. I had the biscuits and gravy (if you don't like rosemary, don't order these, the rosemary biscuits are pretty strong). Brother in law ordered the brisket potatoes and I will definitely be getting that next time instead. Looked and smelled so good. Would definitely recommend for brunch, lunch, dinner, or anything in-between!

My daughter and I went for a midday lunch on Mass Ave and wanted to try someplace we had not been before. Rooster's Kitchen fit the bill. We asked the waitress for recommendations and she mentioned the brisket melt and the Buddha bowl so that was exactly what we ordered. We split each one half-and-half and were not disappointed. The brisket is so tender and the Amelia's bread it is on has more nooks and crannies than I've ever seen! The charred veggies in bowl were delicious. Portions were small, but that just meant we had room in our tummies to get lick ice cream from the Garage

Comfort food but also healthy options! I'm all about it. Rooster's is at the north end of Mass Ave near Bottleworks. You can customize your own mac & cheese even with a potato chip crust! I haven't had drinks here yet (plan to!), but everything else they have is amazing. My current preference is the Buddha Bowl with turkey. The veggies are perfectly roasted, and the turkey is real turkey breast that could have come off your Thanksgiving table! It's one of my favorite lunches to get when I'm in the office. I plan to take a friend here soon via scooter, and I'm sure

We had a great time. I was able to reserve a table using Google services. Wasn't really necessary as they weren't too busy but a nice option. Our server was very kind and had some great suggestions. We shared the house cheddar spread. Amazing flavors served with crunchy toast points. We also shared a Braised Brisket dinner plate with green beans and chips. The brisket was very tender served with an almost jus. Since we shared everything we had room for vanilla bread pudding. A must have on this menu. I noticed them turning away guests very early for a Saturday night. They may be understaffed

Service was very mediocre for it to not have been a crowd. My brisket sandwich was phenomenal however, the "fried potatoes" served with it are fried to a crisp. My friend also had fried potatoes with her veggie hash and they looked just like mine. I ended up asking for Mac & cheese instead which is a $3 up charge but I wasn't charged for it so that's sweet! (Thank you) This place has a wine and beer license only so no hard liquor. Drinks were overpriced and nothing special.

I have tried their Pork rinds years ago at a festival downtown (remember them?). So when I saw this location on Mass Ave. I had to go.
So what does one get for lunch- homemade fresh pork rinds and a Blt. The bacon on the blt was fabulous as was the bread. Pork rinds were yummy. I just did a quick carry out, but I can say service was great, I lace was clean and yes Masks! Great lunch

Rooster's is one of my go-to restaurants on Mass Ave. They have a great draft list, delicious food that's all made with a bunch of local ingredients (Amelia's bread, Hoosier popcorn, local brews, etc.) a really friendly staff, and there's never a crazy wait to get in like some of the other places on Mass Ave.
My go-to menu items are the buddah bowl with brisket and a side of giardiniera (spicy pickled veggies - sounds strange, but is DELICIOUS. My northwest Indiana heart was so happy to find somewhere in central Indiana that knew how to make good giardiniera) and the Brisket

I don't know why I waited so long to finally go to Rooster's Kitchen! I've been here a couple of times since, including during their re-opening for COVID. They have some outdoor seating, and all the wait staff wore masks which led to a comfortable experience. I highly recommend their Damn Good Grilled Cheese, all the compliments are in the name! It's made on a sourdough bread, slathered in butter so you get a nice and crispy crust with cheeses the ooze right out. You also have the opportunity to add a meat - I recommend the brisket! Sandwiches come with a side, which includes
