This is my go to shop in the Hillsboro/Beaverton area. They are great for everything from regularly scheduled maintenance to large fixes. They replaced the rear engine seal in my 2003 Chevy Avalanche and the blower motor in my 2007 Infinity. Today we are in getting a used car inspection that they were nice enough to squeeze us into the schedule last minute to have done prior to purchase.

The shop owner, Joe enjoys fixing and building pretty much anything. He strives to make our shop a quality place of work making sure we're organized and have the tools for any job necessary. In his free time he enjoys time at his home with his wife Jennifer and their golden retriever Wilson. Othoniel is a master technician at TU.
Joe was born and raised in Southern California, and has been working on cars since he was 13. He's worked for his father at a gas/auto service station, various dealerships, and previously owned an auto repair shop while he lived in California. He and his wife Jennifer (CFO and Co-Owner) saved up enough money to open up T.U. in 2008, and do whatever they can to help support their Hillsboro community.
We're fully equipped to perform any mechanical repair needed on most makes and models, including maintenance. Our approach is the same for every vehicle we take care of. Intake of all your background information, full courtesy inspection, and update with any repairs necessary. Your truck is something you can't go a day without, whether you're on the job site or commuting to and from work.

My daughter got a "new" starter from these guys. About a week and a half later her car gave out and stopped working. It's still parked at her work. We have had 2 mechanics come look at it who say it's the starter. When we explain that it's a new starter they tell us it's not. Also when they put in the new starter they also put in a new battery when it didn't need it nor did they ask. It DIDNT need a new battery. They tried to make us pay for it and I wasn't going to pay for the new battery because it was done without permission so they took it off. I would

Ryan has worked on my car for roughly 4 years now, and let me just say there has been A LOT OF WORK. Recently brought my vehicle to Transmissions Unlimited for a few basic things and like always my vehicle was repaired flawlessly.

Had my check engine light come on over the weekend and couldn't get to my regular mechanic. These guys were open on the weekend, which is a rarity and very fortunate.

I heard about them through a cousin who got her car serviced here. I thought I'd check it out since I needed an oil change and I work around the area. I stopped by and was shocked by how fast and friendly they were! Their price is also very reasonable. The service there is exceptional! I have been coming here for a few years now and these guys are awesome! Joe and Dillon are super nice and helpful. It is easy to get an appointment, they always explain things to me, and they are quick! Recently I brought in my car because it was making 'strange noises'. They took a look and fixed only what needed to be fixed, and then gave me estimates on things that should probably get fixed in the future (but we're not immediate). Not only were they able to start working on my car the same day I called them, but I got the car back the same day too. When I came to pick up the car, they had also done a thorough inspection and informed me of several issues with the car that were not immediate causes for concern but should be addressed in the future (and they gave me estimates for all the parts and labor to do those fixes, too).

I've known Dillon, their manager, for about three years now and out of all the places I've taken my car to, they're always there if I need them. Whether it be a phone call or if I stop by, they're able to take a look at my vehicle whether the problem is small or large. Don't let the name confuse you, these guys have helped me with my tires, and even though I purchased a new vehicle and had wiper issues, they did what they could to help me, and when they knew a module needed to be reset, they sent me to the dealer without charging me to take a quick look at it where most

They work on your brand new car as well as my old Volkswagen which most shops will not touch! I like that they are very straight up, Dillon told me what I need to do now, and what can wait tell it needs service. I really appreciate the honesty and the fact they did not try to up-sell me on any thing I did not need! If money is tight they will work with you and see what options you may have.

I have an 05 Audi Allroad that I've owned for a few years. Just as I was rolling home after a 200 mile road trip my car started slipping really bad. I was worried I wouldn't make it to the shop. I was really concerned about the probability of having to replace my transmission so I called Transmissions Unlimited first thing the following morning. Dillon got me right in. Within a couple of hours he called me and gave me an update and my car was ready by the end of the day as promised.

I just had my transmission replaced by Joe and his crew - they were professional, timely, and reasonably priced. I read the negative reviews on this site prior to having them do the work but Joe was highly recommended to me so I decided to trust them - I was not disappointed. I highly recommended these guys - I have finally found a auto mechanic I can trust!!

Do not take your car here. I went in to have my transmission repaired before a road trip because it was starting to slip, they replaced one part which cost me $400 and didn't help then told me I needed a new transmission which cost me $3500 and still slips. I've had it back in the shop four additional times since it was replaced and it continues to slip. The last time it was there they kept it for 3 weeks and charged me $400 in labor since only parts are covered by the warranty and they had to pull it to send it to the company that rebuilt it which was a surprise to me because I thought

I'll start this review by saying, I originally found this place from my wife, who was recommended it by a coworker. My wife had her brakes changed and had good things to say, though she noted they originally quoted her 2 different prices -- one on the phone, and another when she came in. When she pointed this out to them, they gave her the lowest of the 2 quotes. Her impression was that they were good guys, who just like to work on cars -- so when my camry needed attention, it seemed like a no brainer to take it here.

Had just bought a used car, didn't know too much history so I wanted to change out the transmission oil. Called a whole bunch of places, and Transmission Unlimited had the best prices. $100 for (inspection, draining and replacing transmission fluid and filter).Went to get it done, and they only did a drain and fill. Asked the owner the next day, and he said my vehicle had the screen, and thus the filter didn't need replacing. The employee who helped me said if it's not changeable, then it can be cleaned. Cleaning didn't happen. Just a basic drain and fill. I paid full price
