James A. McCafferty, Sr and his wife Margaret Mary (nee Dinan) saw a need for a compassionate funeral provider in the Mayfair area. Both James and Margaret come from a family that was each 3rd generation of funeral service, with Margaret growing up in a funeral home in Center City (Dinan Funeral Home).

We will arrange with the hospital, nursing home or medical examiners office to have your loved one picked up and placed into our care. If the death occurs at home, please contact us when you are ready for us to come.

Traditional burial starting at $5,150 is the type of funeral service that most people envision when they think of a funeral. The deceased is embalmed, dressed and placed into a casket.

For this service our funeral home will transfer the deceased from the institution of death, have the embalming performed, print 100 memorial cards in honor of the deceased, a casket is included which comes in 4 different colors (Silver, White, Bronze, Blue), we will publish a digital death notice listing service times, location and survivors, we file the death certificate in center city, obtain necessary copies for all affairs, 3-4 staff members work the funeral and then take the casket in the hearse in procession to the cemetery for the burial.

When no viewing or services are desired, Direct Cremation Service is the best option. Low cost cremations in the city of Philadelphia and surrounding counties are becoming quite common.

This affordable service consists of the remains being removed from the institution of death (hospital or medical examiner), cremation at our onsite crematory (THE ONLY FUNERAL HOME IN PHILADELPHIA WITH A CREMATORY ONSITE) and cremated remains being returned to the survivors.This is the most simple and economical form of final services.
