Services
A delicious cold soup that consists of shrimp, chopped cilantro, onions, avocado, lemon and orange juice. Served in a large flour tortilla with rice, beans, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions. Served with a side of guacamole and sour cream. Rolled with choice of chicken, steak or vegetables, finished with our own (heavy mole sauce) or special red sauce and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and sour cream.

We had never been to this restaurant but we heard it was very good.
On Monday around noon, we walked in and someone said are you here for takeout? We said no so she said sit anywhere and brought us menus. Later, 2 men walked in and also sat at a table.
A few minutes later she brought the 2 men chips & salsa. We were not brought anything. A few minutes later she took their order. She never came over to our table. My husband & I left.
Maybe the 2 men were regulars but you should treat all your customers the same. Will not go back.

Great local authentic food. BYOB! Huge portions! From chicken soup to Burritos to Quasadillas everything is very high quality and you can taste it. We were visiting for 2 day and both days we had dinner at José's. We didn't even want to try other places. Very kids friendly and great prices. A bargain for all the food you get. Great fast service! Highly Recommended!

Stopped here for a quick bite after a long day at the beach and it did not disappoint! The service was great Jenny was our server and she was great! I had the chicken enchiladas with red sauce, my bf had the taco salad and my son got a chicken burrito off the kids menu that was gigantic! Everything was excellent. The portions were perfect size. We will definitely be coming back

Probably one of the better Mexican restaurants in the central jersey area. Usually the better Spanish food is up north jersey but Jose's does not disappoint. They were super fast getting the food out to us and everyone enjoyed what they got. I ordered the ground beef burrito, it comes with a side of quac for free which is awesome because u usually have to pay for it.
They also have amazing iced tea. It tastes exactly like the big containers of iced tea you get at Chinese restaurants. It's soooo goooood!

First experience at Jose's last night. Not fully impressed, after hearing so many locals rave about it. The two dishes I ordered were COVERED in mole sauce, We did take out, and a friend placed the order so when he ordered enchiladas, he didn't realize they automatically came with mole and if you wanted regular enchilada red sauce you'd have to request it.
So there went the enchiladas. Then the chicken Tamales were also COVERED in mole sauce.
You could barely tell what exactly you were eating because the sauce was so over powering and slathered on everything. The rice and beans

When life hands you lemons, squeeze them on your taco? Steak tacos tasted like my mother's Sunday pot roast, chicken tacos were dry and flavorless, the surf and turf burrito (dont remember the actual name) had shrimp, scallops, steak, and chicken was just ok, nothing really to brag about. I did enjoy the grilled pork taco, but it could have used a hint of lime.

Update: Made the mistake of ordering there again. They need to learn how to pack their takeout containers. It's all over my car now.
Ordered shrimp and chicken fajitas by the pound. Was overcharged. Food is good but they clam the menu online is outdated... Fix your damn menu! Prices have gone up. Poor value.

For the area, it may be the best choice for Mexican food. However, the food isn't great.
We had tacos, huaraches, and horchata. The tacos were pretty bare, and the pork dry. The Huaraches were over the top, with thick, heavy cheese, unlike traditional Huaraches. The horchata was enjoyable and flavorful, though, quite thick. Like drinking a glass of whole milk.
The staff is super nice and accommodating, the place is cozy and family friendly. However, we'll skip this place next time we're in town.

Cute little BYOB spot in Spring Lake. I had just happened to stopped by and noticed that every table was taken (good sign) late on a Saturday night.
The food is super fresh and the portions are huge. We also got the empandadas and they were amazing.
