Carter Funeral Home, Denbigh Chapel was established in 1932 by G. Nelson Carter in a small farm house in Gloucester County Virginia. It was there that the Rev. Fred Carter was born in 1944. My first memories are of reaching up as high as I could to touch the soft silken lining of a casket which was higher than my head.

I called and was told that it was after hours. I understand if there was a time frame but the website and google state 24 hours. I wouldn’t want to come here if that’s how I am talked to

This was THE WORST funeral experience i have ever been through. If I could give zero stars I would. The funeral director was very rude, hasty, and the burial site was well below subpar. The director read through the obituary at the speed of light, passing over every punctuation mark there was. There was water still in the grave site. Overall, this service was a tragedy. Nothing here was done to my liking at all. This individual was brought to Virginia to be buried around family. She even served honorably in the military, and yet with this company she was treated like garbage. DO NOT UTILIZE THEIR
