John P. Stock III was born in Duluth, MN. He received his undergraduate degree from Monmouth College in 1969 and received his law degree in 1975 from DePaul University College of Law. Mr. Stock concentrates his practice in civil litigation, divorce, family law, and business organizations. He is a trained mediator and arbitrator in DuPage County.
Mr. Duff has vast and broad experience in many different areas but has concentrated over the years in all matters of domestic relations and real estate. Mr. Duff's experience uniquely qualifies him for litigation and the representation of clients in all aspects of real estate including real estate contracts, closings both residential and commercial, and real estate development, as well as domestic relations matters.
I attended DePaul Law School full-time in the evening, while working for one of the major trust companies in the Chicago Loop. I therefore received extensive training and experience in estate planning, probate, and tax matters, and have practiced in those areas for over 40 years.
I have kept my knowledge current by attending the Tax and Estate Planning institute at Notre Dame University, the annual Estate Planning Short Course of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and local seminars and symposiums.I have prepared estate plans ranging from complex to basic.

We needed a lawyer within 24 hours for an eviction. I called DuPage Bar
Association. I was given Attorney John Stock's name. We were able to meet with him with a short notice.
His secretary is excellent, she is courteous friendly and takes care of business in a timely manner.
Mr stock is friendly, knowledgeable with over 36 years of experience.
He is very easy to work with. He gives you good advice. His office is just opposite to the courthouse which is a plus.
Another thing I liked about their business is telephone is answered
promptly and you are not put on hold too long.

When I first stepped into the Stock, Carlson & Duff, LLC office in Wheaton over 11 years ago, I was greeted by Suzi, who is simply wonderful. I placed a phone call to attorney John Stock to inquire about legal help. While his receptionist was helpful, Mr. Stock did not have the professionalism or courtesy to even return my telephone call. I expected to hear back from him whether or not he could provide legal services to me. What a disappointment.

I had the same exact experience as the other reviewer (Vegas S.) posted. Very unethical behavior. He never told me he charges money after a certain amount of time and what his charges are upfront. It was supposed to be free initial consultation. When he did tell me I need to pay him and I refused, he started behaving unprofessionally. He even told me he would charge for the 10 minute phone call for his time, which was so set up a face to face appointment !!! Who does that ! His intentions are only to get money from unassuming potential clients. I did not end up paying a dime and walked out of the

John Stock is the worst of the worst. He should be investigated by the State Bar for unethical behavior. I had the distinct displeasure of meeting John at his Wheaton office during a supposedly free consultation. Neither he nor his secretary told me there was a time when I would start being charged. In he comes, asks me questions, and even shares some personal stories with me. Long story short, when I refuse his services (major decision), John charged me $260.00 explaining that he should be compensated for his time. John Stock wasted my time and my hard earned money. I was there for an attorney
