Used to go here a lot, both while they were called "Rock Sport," and then I had a membership for a few months after they reopened as "North Peak"
PROS: North Peak is the place to go for affordable top rope or lead climbing. A big plus, is they are the only gym with indoor auto-belays, which is great for my introvert self. They do also offer some bouldering, but throughout my time there, I found their boulder problems to be weirdly hard? Maybe that's just me, but it was discouraging, falling down two grades from what I was used to.
Also, I always enjoyed the chill, quiet, laid back atmosphere

I was brought to this gym as a guest & left as a member. I didnt expect much from going in because I thought I was doing some fun activity to pass time, but as soon as I walked through the door, the staff was so welcoming! I started on the auto belay, then wanted to try a top rope wall so Ernest came by to help us out. He gave us tips for climbing and mentioned the belay class so that we have access to more walls if we wanted. After taking the belay class with Ernest, we can further practice on our climbing and belay techniques!
I would highly recommend!!

This gym is perfect for all ages and any level of experience! If you are new to climbing, the classes and instructors are awesome! I signed up for the new summer promotion and it has been a great experience! The staff are very friendly and helpful, they provided me a tour of the entire facility that has a newly renovated fitness area with yoga studio. The locker rooms are really nice too It's a clean and comfortable environment!

This is an amazing climbing gym. The class was so informative and helpful. The instructor puts a lot of effort into the class and it's very helpful. The gym has a lot of space to climb. There are auto-belays, so if your partner can't make it you're still good to go. There's a treadmill and some weights, which are nice offerings. There's quite a bit of the gym dedicated to bouldering. The majority of the gym is top rope. The locker room is nice. It feels very comfortable even as a newbie.

I recently took up climbing as a way to have fun while exercising. I went to a bigger gym before and found the crowds and facilities to be very overwhelming. North Peak has everything I need to feel comfortable while learning. All my interactions with the staff have been very encouraging and helpful. The beginners class was in-depth and fun at the same time. I left feeling confident about not hurting myself while here.

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Do not take the class here unless you want to spend 4+ hrs talking about the history of the climbing and the instructors life. When asked what time this class ran too at 2:08 the instructor became very aggressive and rude. Made us feel very uncomfortable. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Mesa rim is far superior in the area and worth every extra dollar spent. 0/5 stars.

It has been years since I've rock climbed but a friend expressed interest and so we've been trying out the local gyms. We signed up on the North Peak website for the PeakPass which includes a 2 week trial complete with a belaying class, gear rentals for the 2 weeks, and initiatian fee waived if signing up for the full membership. Currently they have a large room with bouldering, lead climbing and top rope climbing options and a fitness area, weight room, and yoga room. Once things can open up more they plan on adding yoga classes and they'll eventually have gear for purchase on site
