Veterinary medicine is our life, our passion. We are truly dedicated to keeping your pet happy and healthy. We do this by being the best doctors we can be. We use the latest and best medications and treatments. We attend meetings, seminars, skills-laboratories frequently to provide the best veterinary medicine available.
The Brainerd Hills Veterinary Hospital doctors have over 30 years experience to judge the value and benefits of these advances and how they will benefit you and your pet. As pet owners ourselves we understand the attachment and importance pets are to people. It is an awesome privilege to work on animals and a responsibility that we fully embrace.

Services
Our two veterinarians at Brainerd Hills Veterinary Hospital providing high quality, excellent and efficient animal medical care are Dr. Haddock and Dr. Prince. Married and professional partners, they started Brainerd Hills after leaving Companion Animal Hospital in Chattanooga. Both doctors attended the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
7 out of every 10 animals that we see are presented due to their itchy skin and / or sore, red ears. This is indeed a big part of what we do here everyday. With 30 years of practice experience each of our doctors are very skilled at quickly and efficiently diagnosing the cause and best treatments. The majority are caused by allergies.
Brainerd Hills Veterinary Hospital has a great veterinarian-supervised boarding facility. It has indoor runs and cages for dogs. They are heated and cooled as needed. You can bring beds, blankets, toys, etc but you don't have to bring anything! Special diets requests are easy to honor, as is giving tablets, insulin, wound care, etc.
One of the most stereotypical bits of information we hear about a dog's mouth is that it is cleaner than a human's mouth. Unfortunately for urban legends, this is not true. Harmful bacteria can grow in our pet's mouths when we don't take proper steps to keep their oral hygiene a priority. Most dogs by the age of 4 show signs of gum disease and tooth decay due to lack of proper dental care.
Persistent scratching, biting and licking by our pets is not a sign of good grooming habits. It is indicative of skin allergies or even skin disease. Brainerd Hills Veterinary Hospital has numerous years of experience in diagnosing, treating and even curing skin conditions brought on by different sources.

The vet was fine when I took my dogs there but they really didn't have very good personal skills with the pet owners. She wanted to place my dog on Prozac and she wouldn't listen to our situation about his nervousness. I just couldn't bring myself to return there. I need a vet with listening skills as I know my dog better than they do ;)

We needed a last minute boarding kennel for one of our dogs. Every place in Chattanooga and surrounding areas were at full capacity. The staff was very pilot when calling , they didnt rush me along. We got disconnected and Dr. Haddock answered and took all my info , gave instructions and set up boarding time. He said the staff was loaded with calls , so he picked up to help. Theyve been in touch every day sending photos of our Queen B puppy. Great team, information, reasonable and know their jobs well. Very pleased. Thank you all!

My husband and I have been taking our pets to this vet since we moved to Chattanooga in 2017. They are always professional and show true concern for your pets. They even go as far to follow up by phone a day or two after appointments to see how your pet is doing. They also do grooming as well. One stop shop.

I am not a person to leave bad reviews because I typically would rather spread good than bad, but the incident that happened at this location was just too appalling not to share. I left this place in tears because the doctors were so awful to me. Upon picking my dogs up from being boarded, I was charged an extra night and for a bathing that I didn’t know I was signing up for. When I tried to explain that to the receptionist, she went and grabbed the doctor, John, who came out yelling at me. Didn’t ask me any questions. Just came out yelling saying I would pay the bill and that nothing is free
