This section contains useful information about what to do when death occurs, funeral etiquette and frequently asked questions. Family and friends getting together to honor a loved one's life is one of the most important steps in the grieving and healing process. You may opt to have a traditional religious or military service, or as more and more people are doing, you can choose to have a non-traditional 'life celebration'.
No matter if a death is sudden, or if it something that was a long time coming, the loss of a loved one makes us feel emotional and overwhelmed. No amount of preparation can fully prepare you for the loss of a loved one. When you are in a heightened emotional state, even the most basic decisions can seem staggering.

In a modern world, death is still a common theme, not being prepared for virtual attendance (streaming live video of services) at the discretion of families is short sighted at best. At the worst - In a time when the world deals with a viral pandemic and families are not allowed to travel to attend services it compounds the grief. This is unconscionable.

Superb. My brother, who lived in Schenectady, died suddenly, and I found that I was in charge of the funeral. The folks at Daly Funeral Home took care of all the arrangements. I live in California, so we did everything remotely by email, phone, and 2nd Day Air. They are tech-savvy. I would not even consider any funeral home that did not have a website. They got back to me really fast. I had special requests, which they honored. I found them trustworthy and reliable. I would "buy again" (a strange way of putting it, these days). In other words, I would hire them again. They get an A+.
