Schaefer Engineering, a small licensed firm of professional engineers, provides over 20 combined years of experience in Mechanical Engineering. We create custom LabVIEW programs and deliver design reviews of test facilities with regard to Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and Department of Energy (DOE) testing specifications.
We also teach classes to children using LEGO bricks to solve age-appropriate problems using the Engineering Design Process, as well as guest lecture to students of all ages as outreach on a variety of topics.

Services
We are a small, woman-owned mechanical engineering firm with the ability to provide mechanical engineering expertise in Heating, Ventilating, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) design, testing, automation, and verification/audit/commissioning. We offer the unique perspectives of both the HVAC system design engineers and the laboratory (or testing) facility designers, understanding just how those HVAC systems interact with a test facility.
Schaefer Engineering is also dedicated to advancing the image of engineering in general with our outreach presentations to elementary school, middle school, high school, and college students. All ages are receptive to the interactive nature of our presentations with a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) focus.
Ms. Kristin, a registered Professional Engineer, unlocks the Engineering Design Process for Preschoolers (4- to 6-year olds) in a fun and creative way. Your child will hear a story problem, discover a plan, and create a solution in each themed class. Ms. Kristin also reveals the Engineering Design Process for 7- to 10-year olds in a fun and creative way.
Pre-K Engineering is the introduction to a process by which problems can be solved on a level that is age appropriate for 4- to 6-year olds. It helps to setup a problem, think through a solution, tryout the solution, and then make improvements. These children have been doing this on their own without help.
7-10 year olds in a fun and creative way. Your child will learn about and build various simple machines, then hear about a problem and create a solution in each themed class while using engineering logic. We accept checks or money orders mailed to our office. Parents are welcome to stay during the class to observe.
