Stroo Funeral Home began operating in 1972 when John K. Stroo and his wife, Elaine, along with their young family moved to Cutlerville. With the experience that came from working in two Grand Rapids area funeral homes, John and Elaine desired a business of their own where they could provide personalized, compassionate service within a small town atmosphere.
Cutlerville provided the perfect place for this. The community did not have a funeral home, and its small town atmosphere appealed to the Stroo's as a great place to raise their children and to become personally involved in the life of the church, school, and community. Through the years the community has grown and expanded considerably.

Services
Provides a comfortable atmosphere where families gather to plan services for either themselves or a loved one. Our spacious East Room serves primarily as a large visitation area, as well as a chapel for services. The chapel, with seating for approximately 200 guests, can also be divided into visitation rooms.
Stroo Funeral Home has been providing, and continues to provide, caring, compassionate, reasonably priced, and highly personalized service since 1972. We offer a wide variety of services that can be catered to meet your needs. We also offer prearranged and prepaid services for all of the above mentioned items.
Our care for the families we serve does not end when the service is over. In addition to offering assistance with social security, veteran's benefits, and life insurance claims, we also contact each family within the weeks following the loss of a loved one to make sure all of their needs are being met.

Stroo did a wonderful job with the service itself. However, I had a prepaid service for my mother. At the time of purchase I was told the money would go into an investment account (which it did) and the interest could be used how I see fit towards additional products, services, flowers etc. at the time of death I was told that the interest that was earned on moms account was to be used towards the difference in the price change (inflation) of the package that was already paid for. This in fact was fraudulent and they refused to call me back when I called several times to remedy the situation.

I cannot recommend Stroo Funeral Home enough. This wonderfully run organization has helped our family though two of the most horrible moments imaginable. They work with class and dignity while walking you step by step through the process of honoring your lost loved one. They had the answer to almost all of our questions. If they didn't know something, they said so right away and then found the answer for us.
Thank you to Mike, Lori, and everyone else who helped us at Stroo!
