If you have ever traveled in large groups you know how hard it can be to find a restaurant that not only will serve you, but can also do so quickly while satisfying the wants of everyone in the group. These difficulties are the things that inspired our crew at MacDaddy's Family Kitchen. We realized Port Aransas lacked a place where people can grab a quick meal no matter how large the group was while also serving quality meals.
Located in the heart of Port Aransas, MacDaddy's is not far from where you're staying no matter where it is in on the island. When you walk through our doors you will be greeted by the savory smell of delicious BBQ and a friendly smile. The restaurant is designed to handle large groups with long tables extending through our open floor plan and smaller tables and booths to accommodate the smaller parties.

My wife and I are on keto, so it can be a challenge when eating out. Mac Daddy's is a great place to go while on keto! The broccoli and brussel sprouts were super good and totally clean. I got the rib combo plate and it was huge. My wife got the chicken combo plate. Our little one got the kids Mac and cheese with pulled pork on the side. All the meat was moist and delicious. This is my new favorite restaurant in Port Aransas while on keto!

WELL just to get started I only put 1 star to leave a message. Service was awful, we didn't get serviced until about 15 minutes after we got there a few people got severed before us and they got there after us. I had asked one of the waitresses if she can please get us some napkins, and she said no she is not our waitress, I never had that said to me or anyone I know. That was a first. And our waitress only came once the whole time we were there. And last but not lest the bill was outrageous, for a family of 5. Never paid that amount anywhere. To be honest, I thought the food would be pretty good, but I wasn’t expecting it to be that good. I was delightfully surprised. The brisket was better than I imagined, the sausage had a great little spice to it, and the two barbecue sauce options were fantastic. The brisket nachos stole the show, but the blackened fish was as equally delightful. It was a great set up for kids, however nobody was wearing masks that worked there - knocked a star for that. Kind of weird not seeing wait staff without a mask, but overall great food.

Visited here today and noticed a few things! The fish and the sides are great. But the brand of the establishment is bbq and the bbq is not cutting it. From someone who knows soul food this isn't it. But the fish and sides we're great but I do think the brand of the place should change to maybe a seafood and chicken restaurant and not soul. 😊
