Craniosacral Therapy fits under the umbrella of Manual Therapy; hands-on assessment and technique based on palpation findings. Beyond the musculo-skeletal system, Craniosacral Therapy goes deeper to the Craniosacral system, made up of fluids and membranes that surround, nourish and protect the nervous system, brain, and spine.
Cerebral spinal fluid (csf) in particular facilitates the higher glands and communication between them. This fluid maintains the nervous, immune, lymph, endocrine, and musculoskeletal systems. When the Cranial system is happy, every system is happy. This therapy helps your body administer its own resources to overcome symptoms or stagnation.

Water behaves inside the body as it does anywhere in nature; it flows, it has waves, it eddies, and it has tides. The movement of our inner waters can be felt, owing to our highly specialized hands and fingertips, uniquely advantaged to perceive this movement. We call the movement of the waters "the fluid drive, " and a Craniosacral therapist can find its movement anywhere in the body.
This is no surprise as the jaw is located in the midst of the most regularly used and most crucial part of our body. The mouth, neck, ear, jaw, teeth, and nose areas are critical for breathing, drinking, eating, hearing, talking, balance, body language, expression and more. Anatomically, it is closely associated with the limbic system and the fight/flight response.
Please note that we cannot keep your appointment if you arrive 20 minutes after the appointment time. We will either reschedule or cancel your appointment in that case, a cancellation fee of $75 will occur. Check with your insurance company to confirm if you have this provision. They may have instructions, or a special form you will need to submit the superbill I will provide you.

Had my first session with Broehe today and it was fantastic! I was so relaxed afterward and have continued to stay in high spirits. I have been seeing Broehe for about two months now. I initially went to her with a Groupon for massage and craniosacral treatments. I have been extremely stressed in my work and recovering from a car accident in January. The craniosacral work has helped me with pain, headaches and grounding me tremendously. I hope to continue this work with Broehe. She is very intuitive and amazing in the work she does! She is really helping me to feel calmer and ground myself. Broehe has a truly calming presence and really works with you to best suit your current needs. Unlike some experience I've had in the past, I did not feel rushed and really felt that Broehe was doing her best to listen and work on my sore back/shouders/neck with her magical healing hands. She seems to have the perfect balance between knowing her anatomy, massage therapy skills, and therapeutic aura about her that I appreciated. My shoulders usually return to being tense only after a couple days of having massage therapy, but I'm still knot-free after seeing her last week! I am so glad

I called Broehe in desperation, hoping for a very last minute appointment, as I have been experiencing debilitating back pain throughout my pregnancy and was at a breaking point. She graciously fit me into her schedule for a same day appointment which was super tight for her, but she was able to make it work. I'm assuming she would normally use this mid-day slot to eat lunch or take a break, so I am beyond thankful for her kindness and generosity. Broehe Karpenko is very skilled, not only in the art of massage therapy but also with years of practice honing the more subtle energies involved with cranio-sacral therapy. I love CST because I seem to tune in, and notice myself on some level that has no words, no active intention, but a perceived agreement that arises, to go with what my body needs.

I never knew how holistic massage therapy could be until I started seeing Broehe. She suggested I try cranio-sacral therapy, and I was a little skeptical in the beginning, because it doesn't involve the same pressure as you would find in a typical massage.
