Worth the view alone! Great lunch menu, very reasonable, small portions. Wide dinner menu, had chicken parmigiana, it was ok. Nothing great, but good. Quiche was excellent, very small portion. Excellent desserts.
Jan 2022 update… still a great view and great food! For some odd reason their salads are highly memorable, make certain to have one.

We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant last night!!! The food was amazing!! Between the 4 of us we had the prime rib, which was delicious, short ribs, which were to die for and crab cakes which were wonderful!!!! Along with wonderful food the wait staff were so nice and friendly!!! The owner stopped by and wanted to make sure everything was good and it absolutely was!!!! I can't say enough about our meal and the staff!!! Can't wait to go back!! Oh by the way, they spaced all the patrons so we were more than 6 feet apart! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

My boss took us here for our office Christmas dinner, It was amazing, the food was Fantastic, and our waitress was fabulous. I had surf and turf for my main course and Tiramisu for dessert. My coworker had a cheesecake which she loved. I have no complaints, furniture looks a little outdated but maybe that's a part of the charm (not a complaint just an observation). I would definitely dine here again :)

Top of the 80's is one of those places I've been to before but wasn't compelled to review it yet... even though you thought it did! No, I did not... so this review is based on some of my overall experiences.
I don't have experience coordinating events (parties and weddings), but I can probably imagine they'd go just swimmingly. I'll update once that opportunity presents itself.
A step back through time even in an era before the Poconos didn't start morphing into modernism, and that can be a good thing. I've had steaks here that rivaled a top tier steakhouse

All I can say is WOW!! What a magnificent place to dine at. The view of the valley was spectacular and colorful. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding. My wife and I say thank you to all of the staff for a job well done. You made our anniversary very special. Thanks.

Went there for a funeral luncheon. The server's were very nice and friendly they really took care of you. The owner or manager not sure what title actually came and asked our table if everything was okay, that was very nice. The food was absolutely delicious. I was sorry for the reason I was there, but I know my friend that passed wouldn't have wanted it any other way.. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food and the hospitality of the staff.

Ruuuuuuuuuude and judge-y. The only thing beautiful about this place was the view... that we didn't even stick around to enjoy. After a long drive from Chicago, we were excited to see the "Top of the 80s" sign from the Highway. We hoped they'd have a nice table with a view since it wasn't even 5pm. We inquired but the snooty, young host had other plans for us. He marched us past a room full of open tables and tried to plunk us down next to the dirty dish station. We asked to move, but a waitress got up in my face and snarked, "No, they're all reserved." Well

I was skeptical - it was recommended by the hotel and we were told fine dining - we just wanted a salad after being on the road all day. We went anyway and ate at the outdoor patio next to the bar and used the bar menu. What a pleasant surprise. The service was very good, the view was amazing (incredible sunset) and my salmon caesar salad was delicious. My husband had the cheesesteak and was similarly pleased. If we are near there again we will return.

I'm new to the area and have yet to find a restaurant that I really like, and then I found top of the 80's! The atmosphere is great, spectacular view, great food, and I really enjoyed the live music. I will say the prices are very similar to New York restaurant prices (where I'm from) so I could see that being an issue for people who live in the area. I will pay for good food though and it's definitely good food. For an appetizer I got the French onion soup, and for my entree I got the chicken & crab piccata. The soup was like any French onion soup but the chicken &

I felt unwelcome, , we should have walked out, but we only ordered appetizers that were served with no small serving dishes to eat from, they didn't have a full menu anyway, and the menu was a sheet of paper with very hard to read font. The service was very basic. The French onion soup was perfectly seasoned,, and the desserts were best I ever had at a restaurant, I had takeout here and the food was perfect. I felt like this was not a fine dining experience other than the view ,

I visited this restaurant while on business, eating lunch there one day and drinks & dinner another. The decor is old (80's would be a stretch) but part of the personality of the restaurant. For lunch I had a chicken breast, baked potato and cauliflower. The chicken and baked potato was just barely warm and dried out like they had been sitting under the warmer for awhile and the butter for my baked potato was frozen. However, the cauliflower with garlic cheese sauce was hot and AH-MAZING! For dinner the next night, the bar is delightful with a stunning sunset view of the valley. I highly

This place makes you feel like you're living in the 80's for sure. As soon as you enter, you feel like you just walked into a time machine. Since that is what their style is, they did a good job with the decor. The view was incredible. I could see almost all of Hazleton, PA which was my favorite part. I was only here for dessert and tea with a friend. I found it to be very average, even the tea. Many people from this area do enjoy coming here and recommend it. I do plan on visiting again to try their dinner menu and hope to be impressed by that.

Fantastic! I ordered a well done filet and it was cooked to perfection! Even though it was well, it was tender to the point where no knife was necessary! The crab cake was lump white meat crab, not backfin garbage. My husbands lobster was cooked perfectly. This restaurant serves high quality food products and not chain restaurant quality rubbish! Service was fast and the view was breathtaking!

Oh the power of the pen. Give someone a yelp app and they feel compelled to write bad reviews. I've been here twice had 2 different meals and had awesome service.
Tonight I had the filet and baked potato. The steak was cooked to perfection, my bartender was very attentive, and the views, oh the views. So nice that my kids asked to come on my next business trip.
People take bad reviews with a grain of salt.
4/29/19. I just had a steak here that would rival any top tier steakhouse in NY. The filet was more tender than any steak I ever had. I live in Steakhouse's btw. So if you are

Top of the 80's is our special "go-to" for private parties - my mother's 90th Surprise Birthday Party, my wedding in 2015 and, more recently, a Celebration of Life for my dear Mother who passed away.
The downstairs room radiates with gorgeous light through the huge picture window. You'll be delighted with the sweeping views of Conyngham Valley and Sugarloaf Peak which provides a stunning backdrop for any event. I can't praise enough the inexhaustible efforts of General Manager Jackie Van Gieson who ensures that everything is exactly as you want it. Accommodating

The views and the atmosphere in this place makes it a 5 plus star. There is a soft beautiful, romantic Aura to this whole restaurant. It is big. The tables by the windows gives you that over the top mountain view with city lights and forest to see. Is a fantastic place to bring someone for a date. My son loved it, He was amazed at the views, and nothing brings more happiness to me than to bring him to new places to flavor and experience.
He got some chicken and pasta dish, I had some Lobster dish which only had small pieces of Lobster in it. Regardless, the food, salad, and wine tasted
