The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced that Prime Accountable Care West, LLC has been selected as one of 100 new Medicare Shared Savings Program Accountable Care Organization (ACOs), providing Medicare beneficiaries with access to high-quality, coordinated care across the United States.
Prime Accountable Care West, LLC is participating in a Medicare Accountable Care Organization (ACO) program. An ACO is a group of doctors, hospitals, and healthcare providers working together with Medicare to give improved service and care to Medicate Fee-for-Service Patients. This Accountable Care Organization is only for Fee-for-Service (FFS) Medicare patients and not Medicare Advantage (MA) based beneficiaries.

The Secretary of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has provided waivers of certain federal laws that may otherwise limit innovation by ACOs. In accordance with the public disclosure requirements of the ACO Participation Waivers set forth in 80 Fed. Agreements with LabCorp: The parties to the arrangement include Prime Accountable Care West, LLC ("Prime") and Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings and its subsidiaries("LabCorp").
