Empowered Wellness Counseling
Life isn't always easy. Everyone deserves support to guide them through life's toughest challenges. Therapy is a means to receive that support. Our practice specializes in treating individuals, supporting families and couples, and also offering group supports.

Valerie A. Fahie is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been in the field for over 20 years. Her experience is in various areas of the field of counseling including non-profit, supervising an adolescent female residential facility, training college-level peer educators, therapy in private practices, working in the area of prevention, amongst other experiences.
Mary Kate Brosnan, MA, R-DMT, CYT-200 is an individual and group therapist who has been in the field for ten years. Her experience is in various areas of the field of counseling including inpatient, intensive outpatient and outpatient services. Mary Kate has a degree in Dance/Movement therapy.

Her training enables her to use dance and movement in a therapeutic way that promotes emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of the individual.Mary Kate is also a trained yoga therapist and expertly guides people in this practice. Mary Kate is passionate about supporting the whole person and truly believes in the benefit of identifying barriers in your life and finding the resilience and strength to move forward on a healthy path.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the difference between beliefs, thoughts and feelings, and free them from unhelpful patterns of behavior. CBT is grounded in the belief that it is a person's perception of events - rather than the events themselves - that determines how he or she will feel and act in response.
