Together, they grew AOC with the help of a dedicated team of accountants and client managers. Prior to founding AOC, Laurie was a Senior Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston and managed the ongoing and transactional needs of SEC registrants as well as privately held restaurant and food service clients.
While our clients are mostly located in the Bay Area, we are a virtual company with team members working remotely from their home offices. So, I broke down and hired a restaurant consulting group last year. I know, Zazie is successful and busy and all that jazz, but we were so out of date in the office it was insane. Just an IRS audit waiting to happen, and not because we were doing anything sketch- it just looked sketch because it was all on hand written sheets in pencil! I mean, literally, our computer in the office was a 1992 Mac Classic until last year. Wow. Anyway, Chad was fabulous... he helped bring us up to speed, start using these modern contraptions called "spread sheets" and "P&L statements"
