Our funeral home has paid tribute to the time-honored traditions of Oxford and Creedmoor communities for over 60 years. The staff of Eakes Funeral Home takes this concept seriously - a funeral is a time to honor the life of the deceased and celebrate the heritage of their family. We strive to make each funeral a respectful, fulfilling experience that meets the unique needs of each family.

The Eakes Funeral Homes are family run businesses and have been serving the area Granville county community for over 50 years. The origin of this institution dates back to 1950 when George Thomas Eakes began his commitment to the community with the first G.T. Eakes Funeral Home on Littlejohn Street in downtown Oxford, North Carolina.
Our funeral directors are trained, experienced, dignified, and compassionate people who are ready to help you. Pre-Need Funeral Arrangements assure that your individual wishes are carried out, as well as lighten the difficult burden from your family member. Contact us anytime to discuss questions about pre-need arrangements.
There are good reasons for making funeral arrangements in advance. Without a doubt, the most important reason for making funeral and other estate arrangements in advance is to spare your family this task at a difficult time. The caring staff at Eakes can answer questions on benefits, help you select cemetery property and other memorialization, and make complete funeral arrangements.

I've been coming to funerals here since I was a little girl. My uncle rabbit (Perry Moon) passed and it was like the place doesn't have it together like they used too. There was no policeman or anyone leading the line. It was unorganized. The veteran volunteers was very nice at the grave site which is why I gave two stars. I think the old setup was a lot better and more comfortable for everyone. They did not even put a wreath on my aunt's door which used to happen as well. I hope I dont have to come back anytime soon but if I do, I hope they get it together.

The entrance threshold is tricky for wheelchairs and we needed assistance getting in and out. By the time we got out, the procession was lined up and ready to leave and the line of cars was blocking the only sloped spot on the sidewalk meaning we couldn't get across to the parking lot and fell behind. There was also a buzzing sound in the chapel during the service.
