About Us Report

Jim Barnabei never planned on getting into the restaurant business. He was running the Wildwood liquor store founded by his parents when his cousin, a lawyer and real estate business owner, called him to suggest they take a look at an eatery available in Avalon. The space turned out to be too good to pass up and Jim and Nancy Barnabei opened what would soon become one of the best Avalon New Jersey restaurants, the Concord Cafe, in 1989.

Not good for vegetarians. Very limited selection to choose from. Serving sizes too small. Very overpriced. Too small and very crowded. Very rude people. Will not return. Would not recommend.

Great seafood and pasta dishes,ravioli aswell concord burger was good just not seasoned well. Very friendly staff and good mixed drinks. Would definitely go back. Actually did next morning and breakfast sandwiches where fresh and reasonably priced.

We go to Avalon every year and we go to the Concord Cafe every time we come. In previous years, we have had great service and no complaints. Tonight, we decided to make our annual trip and there were many complaints. When we arrived, there wasn’t a table for the six of us. They told us that it would be a twenty minute wait. Twenty minutes past, soon we were waiting for about 45 minutes and many other large groups walked in. They finally took us in and we were cramped in a table for 4 people. And that’s when all of the downfalls started. All of the waiters were huddled around the counter making

The food here is absolutely amazing. I have never had a bad meal. The only problem you will encounter is, because seating is limited, there can be a long wait at times. If you arrive before 5 PM it's usually not an issue.
