Services
Established in 1935 by J. A. Ward and J. W. Wilson, Ward Wilson Funeral Home has taken pride in serving the families of Dothan and the Wiregrass area. Located in the area where Justice Park now stands, the original Ward Wilson Funeral Home building began in was known as the Crawford Home. The picture shown here was taken from a post card.
Cremation has become a popular option for many Wiregrass families because it can be more flexible as to where and when you hold a service. You can have a traditional funeral service before a cremation or a memorial service at any time with or without the urn present. You can keep the urn, scatter the ashes or have the urn buried in a grave or columbarium where we can hold a service.
At Ward Wilson Funeral Home, we feel that our crematory is an investment in your trust. Many area funeral homes advertise that they offer "cremation services, " although several subcontract this sensitive process to distant, off-site crematories. We have our own on-site crematory because we want you to feel comfortable in knowing that your loved one will never leave our facility and will be cared for by our compassionate employees.
Memory Hill Cemetery at Ward Wilson Funeral home is a beautiful cemetery located in Dothan, Alabama with available graves, niches and mausoleum spaces. We can help you pre-plan cemetery arrangements in advance. At Memory Hill Cemetery we can create beautiful lasting memorials for you or your loved ones that fit your personality and needs.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.

Our family was very disappointed with the services rendered for my sister. When they came to pick my sister's body up, which was late at night, her son tried to make sure they had her dentures for burial. He was told to hold on to them because they would lose them and to bring them to the funeral home the next day. When we arrived and he tried to give them the dentures, he was told they had already embalmed and could not use the dentures. He was so heartbroken, as were we all. When they had no dentures present, they should not have taken for granted that she had none. They should have contacted

My brother was laid to rest next to our maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather, paternal great and great great grandparents, several cousins and aunts and uncles. I enjoy going to this cemetery and have never felt a negative presence there. It is clean and the lawn is manicured by the facilities staff.

I visited Ward Wilson Funeral Home a few weeks ago and it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. First, the funeral home is beautiful, well maintained and very modern. Second, the staff is caring, kind and considerate and very happy to explain and answer your questions. Third, they provide funeral services that fit your needs and personality. They are the best around!

Ward-Wilson / Memory Hill is Houston County, Alabama's only consolidated funeral home, cemetery and crematorium.
Memory Hill has an Honor Garden, specifically dedicated to military veterans.
Together they have served the families of the Dothan and surrounding areas for over 75 years.
Anyone finding themselves in need or interesting in pre-planning their arrangements (whether utilizing the Memory Hill Cemetery or otherwise) would have their needs handled with the utmost care, detail and respect.

First of all the man and woman they had to get my grandfathers dead body couldn’t handle the weight and my Uncle had to step in and help carry his own father to the gurney. Secondly, The hearse driver was too fast.. maybe he was trying to keep up with the state trooper but they should be in sync with one another for a funeral.. Also, the casket was so heavy and they told us 4 men would be enough without bothering to tell us how much the casket weighed. The facility is nice and the people were kind. The preacher had a nice story but we expected a lot more consideration and organization from a
