I have been coming here for Christmas Dinner for several years now. It is one of those places where are you can dress up and have a delightful dinner in an intimate setting. There aren't many of those around. Sure, you have Chinese food, pizza, and your average Italian restaurants, but this is special. This is a place where you take the one you love for a romantic night out where are you can talk amongst yourselves and feel like a couple. Take away the stress and worries of Christmas shopping (now done!) and obligations galore (now met!) and be at peace with the one you love. This is a place

30 Boltwood does it right. I came here for a rehearsal dinner for my sister and brother-in-law. Everything was beyond exquisite. I have eaten in fancy NYC establishments that go all out, and 30 Boltwood is on par with those.
I had the most divine risotto, grape leaves, and salmon. The menu appeared to vary distinctly from the restaurant's primary menu offerings. I can't remember now exactly what we were fed, but it was a five-course meal that delivered on all fronts. There was even a mushroom dish and I typically do not get near to mushrooms as they make me queasy. These mushrooms were

Graduation disaster.
Thank goodness this place is owned by Amherst College, thus it will never will be forced to survive on the quality of the food.
Here's my dining summary from the night of May 14, 2021:
A Special Prix Fixe Menu, because "graduation"
About year back we booked this reservation, yet a few days before were informed they'd only be offering a 3-course prix fixe menu, at the ambitious rate of $55/person...with the most bland inexpensive plates imaginable. Prime Rib, some kind of Chicken, split pea Risotto, Salmon and a seafood medley over pasta.

I'm sad to give 30 Boltwood this rating- was there for lunch outdoors last September and it was FABULOUS. However, we went for dinner last Saturday (4-17-21) and it was so so disappointing: Charcuterie board had a 1" x 1" slice of brie- the ONLY cheese on the board. In September the honey was a huge slab of honeycomb. Saturday it was tiny. My husband and I ordered medium rare filets- they were medium well. Another in our party ordered the "gourmet" grilled cheese which was thick bread, 2 paper thin slices of cheese and the cheese wasn't even melted. Ugh. Such a bummer. And not a cheap bummer, either

The drinks were very good. The food is OK they just give you such a small little portion with a high end price. I don’t have an issue to spend money but I want to eat and get full and not look for another restaurant to go and eat at. Staff a little snotty they think they’re New Yorkers but they’re not. Get the chip off your shoulder.

Went there for my wife's birthday and they did an exceptional job keeping us feeling safe and clean during this pandemic. Felt great to be out on the patio and enjoying delicious food and cocktails. Only reason it's not getting a 5 star rating was the mediocre espresso that cost $4.50. One of the best places to get a Negroni cocktail in the Valley.

Had an amazing lunch here today. The weather was perfect and we sat on the patio on the comfortable sofas. Our sever was friendly and attentive without hovering. He went above board to make sure that we had a great experience. He was always there when we needed anything. And then the food- the menu was pretty simple and I wasn't excited at first, but the mussels with the deep fried saltines were delicious, my burger was perfectly juicy with the caramelized onions, and the lobster roll was so fresh and loaded with lobster. All of that was accompanied by an ice cold bottle of chardonnay which made

I'd like to be more forgiving given the pandemic. Had dinner with my partner two nights ago, and it was thoroughly mediocre. No outdoor heat for the majority of tables—and it was easily 50 degrees or below. We were there 2 hours; most of that spent waiting for our food and drinks—incredibly slow for basic menu items like a burger and a sandwich. $17 for a burger that doesn't even include lettuce, tomato, or a pickle on the side? At least in Boston such prices get you more bang for your buck. Johnny cake and Brussels sprouts were the only good things we had, and those were side dishes. Other

30 Boltwood has had a new chef, apparently since last summer. My husband and I had a wonderful meal! We came for dinner here tonight as coronavirus is setting in and we wanted to venture out of our home.
We hoped that the spacious dining room would allow for social distancing, and the lovely hostess, Monica, seated us at a large booth with lots of space. Our server, Stephen, was both friendly and very helpful and attentive.
The bourbon cocktail was delicious, and they're offering a special drink, The Quarantina, which was a nice touch!
We both got burgers. They were served, cooked

Always a relaxing dining experience, with well mannered, attentive, and friendly wait stuff. Not a large menu, but sufficient choices for any palate. Not overly creative, but prepared well. Elegant, covered outdoor seating is a must in the warmer months. Sit by the outdoor fire pit for drinks and cocktails before or after dinner for a great evening out in Amherst.

This was a very nice experience, elegant dining room and a lovely patio (unfortunately full when we visited). This is a more expensive place, but the food was very well prepared and delicious. I would however advise against the mussels, they weren't bad but very plain and a distinct overpowering Briney taste. Nevertheless, a great evening, great wine selection and great tasting main courses. A very pleasant experience all around

An absolutely amazing establishment. My wife and I went here for her birthday and it was a top notch experience. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the scallops were out of this world. There was live music that set the perfect ambiance for our meal. I'd reccomend this restaurant to anyone looking for some high class dining right in the heart of Amherst.

Marita worked her magic on getting us in again on Valentines night. Thank you so much. They had a delicious 3 course menu last night. Appetizer was a wonderful oyster soup followed by a lobster fettuccine, main course was halibut and the a very Unusual desert, that was also incredible. Everyone on staff are great, Joe, Rachel and Vicki.

We enjoyed a lovely meal. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. Cameron our server was friendly and professional. The pear salad was refreshing and delicious with a blue cheese cream hidden nicely under the greens. I enjoyed the duck with a butternut squash risotto. My husband enjoyed the mushroom risotto. The meal was complimented with a lovely 1/2 bottle of Duckhorn Cabernet. We were headed to a UMass hockey game so did not linger for desert. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service and a professional kitchen staff. Seems like a charming Inn- May need to find an excuse to stay over. We took

Underrated gem of a restaurant. From the warm welcome from Marita to the incredible server Cameron, the staff was wonderful. The Valentine's Day menu was to die for. My Foie gras, lobster & caviar, filet mignon and raspberry penna cotta meal was well proportioned and delicious. My partner went with the cider glazed duck and was very impressed. They have romantic ambiance down for sure. Piano player kudos, great voice and great choice of songs. Can't wait to go back.

Came here while in town to visit with family for a brunch. The food was excellent, especially the canapes. The salmon on cucumber was to die for. I could have eaten 100 of those. The deviled eggs were great as well, and the mussels were perfect. Our party ordered many of the different entree options for bunch, and they were all great. Unfortunately, the service was... difficult. I feel as though it may have been a staffing issue. The place was fairly busy, but I only ever saw two servers--three if you count the fact that the hostess was helping the servers apparently due to the trouble. It took

I went in last night for a nice dinner with one of my best friends getting married this weekend and my fellow bridesmaids. We had a 6:45 reservation and we didn't get our appetizers until 8:30 pm, with no explanation or apology. The maid of honor and I were horrified and embarrassed that what should have been a lovely and special dinner ended up with us paying and leaving hungry after almost 2 hours of waiting. The food was good, but the service was inexcusable.

Came to dinner with my family and the food was EXCEPTIONAL. We had the lobster risotto, perogi ragú appetizer and soup of the day, followed by the Faroe Island salmon and bacon wrapped halibut. SO DELICIOUS! The entree portions are sizable and well worth the price. Dessert was also phenomenal-- we had the chocolate cake, peaches and goat cheese and the olive oil fennel tres leches cake. Waiter David was outstanding! They also had gluten free bread and were extremely accommodating to dietary needs. Bonus: the sangria is one of the BEST EVER, filled with fruit! We will defintely will be back soon
