Mountain Auto Repair and Muffler was established in 1993 and is locally owned and operated. We care about our customers and their vehicles. That's why we go above and beyond to make sure our customers get the best experience possible. At Mountain Auto Repair, we are a full-service facility and offer our customers a full range of automotive services for all makes and models.
This crew replaced a warped manifold for me. Truth be told, the fix only lasted a few months before the noise came back. They took the car back in and did some work on it at no charge, and it did help. But a few months later the tick was back. In the end, they replaced the manifold one more time at no cost and lamented a questionable gasket design; they point is they honored their work anyway.

I couldn’t be more impressed with James and the entire crew at Mountain Auto. We had just moved to town when my brake light came on. James had me in that day and quickly repaired the brakes. He also located a hard-to-find part for my shocks and had me back the next week to take care of that. Car runs like a dream. We also have a very old car that I couldn’t get the hood open for and he told me to just drop by so it could be fixed. I was there and on my way in minutes and he didn’t even charge me. I feel so confident in their work, their diagnoses and their integrity. I would highly recommend

James made the time to fit our Outback in for an emergent radiator replacement while we were in vacation there. He was not only willing to take our car with no prior notice but he also was honest & incredibly fast getting a replacement radiator and getting our car running again in less than 24 hours! I cannot thank Mountain Auto enough for their quality workmanship & speed! They saved our trip and saved us hundreds of dollars in rentals or airplane tickets! The repair was done right & done fast for a very fair rate. I cannot think of better qualities in a mechanic shop. I would highly recommend

My car overheated when I was on a 700 mile trek home right in downtown Heber. Mountain Auto Repair was amazing! I called them immediately asking what I should do and if it was okay if I drove my car to them. This all happened less than an hour before they closed, but they didn't even mention that fact and said to bring it by and they would see what they could do. I felt like they genuinely cared about people and I felt like I was part of a community when I went to them even though I was a complete stranger. I have had this shop do a transmission fluid change in the past on my Kia, and when my Subaru was making a noise that I thought was maybe just a bearing, they diagnosed it as a transmission issue within a day.
They recommended a transmission fluid change, but told me there was likely some damage to the transmission that would mean a replacement in about 50,000 more miles. Charged me $60 to change my truck from metric to english. I looked up how to do this and did it myself and it literally takes less then 5 minutes to learn how then complete it. I figured while they were working on my truck they could just switch it over for me real quick since they probably already knew how to do it. Had I known they were gonna charge $60 for 5 minutes of their time I wouldn't have bothered asking. Not to mention they didn't even fix the main problem I took my truck in for. I was told my trucks computer read no codes even though my check engine light was on when I got there. They

Great customer service. My family and I were on a trip when we experienced engine trouble near Heber and could not continue. After trying other shops, Mountain Auto Repair said they would accommodate us despite being very busy and it already being late afternoon. They said they don't like people being stranded. The issue was failing spark plugs. They quickly fixed the problem and we were on our way. Thank you Mountain Auto Repair!

Just stopped in to get a very small exhaust leak patched and was quoted $130! Can’t even imagine the markup for normal maintance. If you wanna throw your money away I’d recommend this place. *More importantly I didn’t feel welcomed at all here. It was very obvious they didn’t want to work on my car probably because they had a lot bigger/more profitable jobs on the books. Poor customer service
