Established in 2014, the primary goal of the Shan Wu Kung Fu School is to offer Authentic teachings in various Martial Arts styles as they were passed down through unbroken lineages to Sifu Rmion by his masters. Its core teaching centers on the Wing Chun Kuen system of Kung Fu as handed down from the late Great-Grandmaster Ip Man and his Eldest Son and Heir Grandmaster Ip Chun.
Our emphasis is to teach the system in its purest form without embellishment, add-ons or omissions. The School provides a friendly but formal environment for the serious student interested in investing the time, effort, and dedication required to acquire a deeper understanding and mastery of the system.

Much has been written about the true origins of Wing Chun, and although no version has been accepted as definitive truth, the one fact that has remained undeniable and widely accepted is that Wing Chun is by all accounts one of the most effective fighting style in the world.
Some of the key elements of this style include its centerline theory, a simultaneous block-attack approach, simple, non-flashy moves with real street-fighting applications, and explosive power.Deceptively simple, Wing Chun is however not simplistic and requires dedication and hard work to master.

1 There is an established ranking system. The purpose of this system is to enable the instructors to quickly identify your level and train you more effectively. 2 Due to the ranking system, all students must come to class in full uniform ALL THE TIME. 3 Students must come to class on time. If you are late, you must stand by the door until Sifu or Instructor admits you into the class.
He began studying Wing Chun with his father when he was 7 years old, however he admits that he did not really want to learn at that time and that he remembers relatively little from that early tuition.
When the communist revolution swept through China in 1949, the communists began to persecute the wealthy, the influential and anyone connected to the Kuomintang (the political party founded by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the first president of the Republic of China).Since Grandmaster Yip Man was both wealthy and a Captain of Local Police patrols of Namhoi, he felt forced to leave China, finally settling in Hong Kong after a short stay in Macao with friends.

During the reign of Emperor Jiaqing (1796-1820), Kung Fu masters who opposed the Qing Dynasty were hunted down and murdered. One master of Shaolin Kung Fu was Yim Yee, who fled from Quanzhou in Fujian province to take refuge with his family in Liancheng, living as a tofu merchant. Yim Yee had a daughter named Yim Wing Chun who had secretly trained in Kung Fu with her father since early childhood.
Although I believe that there is only one style of Wing Chun with variations that developed over the years, at the SWKFS we teach and practice the style as it was taught and passed down directly from Great Grandmaster Ip Man to his Eldest son Grandmaster Ip Chun to Master Yip to me. We teach the complete system without any "modifications" or so called "improvements".
