At HPS, our goal is to reduce the cost of healthcare administration while maintaining the highest level of provider and patient satisfaction in the industry. See how we're building a better system for employers with self-funded and level-funded health insurance. Our revolutionary approach is built on the idea that together, we can make healthcare less confusing and more cost-effective for all.

HPS offers the most effective independent provider network in eastern Wisconsin, partnering with providers in two-thirds of Wisconsin counties. Our single billing statement incorporates all medical bills and EOBs, eliminating confusion for patients and offering providers easier billing processes.
Services
Dad had a routine procedure, Mom was seen for a sprained ankle, the daughter had a torn ligament requiring surgery and physical therapy, and the son was treated for strep throat. Over a 5-month period, the Smith family saw a total of 11 different providers, which would have typically generated 125 pieces of mail.
One of the most troublesome problems in American healthcare today is the billing. A Consumer Reports survey of insured adults who had a recent major medical bill found that two-thirds had experienced higher-than-expected charges, confusing statements and/or late or "surprise" bills.

Medical bills are so unclear, many consumers aren't sure what they owe-or how to dispute a charge if they think it's incorrect-so they just pay it to avoid credit problems.Meanwhile, 40% of Americans with major past medical bills still carry debt from the expense and 24% of Americans have simply went without needed medical care due to unaffordable costs.

I had a question regarding my balance, and how to pay it. I sent an email, and was contacted back very quickly. They asked for some details to identify myself. After giving what they needed they again sent an email very quickly. The email contact was almost immediate. They cleared up my issue with all the information I needed. They were very professional, and extremely helpful.

Avoid HPS at all costs if you have the choice!!!
They failed to pay my health provider for several months so I finally paid the hospital myself to keep it from going on my credit report and ruining it for 7 years. A couple weeks after I paid they decided to finally pay it. I found out by the bill HPS sent me via snail mail stating that now I owe them for what I had already paid my provider because they failed to in the first place!!! Ugh.
Their online service is a joke, good luck navigating it and figuring out how to sign in if you have an account. My bill that I got sent by snail mail didn't

Unfortunately I am forced to use HPS through my employer. They send bills to collections even if you are actively making payments on them, and within the statement periods - so basically find the money to pay it all at once, or you’re screwed. This company has negatively impacted my credit score because of this. If you have a choice, AVOID THEM.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I was forced to use Health Payment Systems through my former place of employment's health insurance plan. I never had any large amount of bills with them, I had some smaller bills that I always paid off asap. Out of the blue I received a statement for $30, so I logged on to my online account to see what the bill was for and then my plan was to pay it. My account said I owed $0 and I could not find a claim or anything explaining what this $30 bill was for. I called customer service and they verified my account balance was $0 and that they would take care of the issue. Now months

This place is Horrible, they charge you a Premium up front, they the require you to pay 100% and 100% of the costs after then later on they ask you for a percentage so your paying multiple times on 2 and three times then when you ask about the dates of service they say they just lump sum the payments you have made and not separated out to the payment you have made. we have made the same payments 2 and three times for dates of services and they still come up. this is illegal and they should be reported. i had my claims all waived because of their screw ups and not they are trying to charge me for

Their company auto deducted money from my checking account when I had a $0 balance. I have been fighting them for over SIX MONTHS to get my money back. They told me I needed to wait two billing cycles, so I did. Called and asked for my refund upon receiving the second bill and they told me it was on it's way. Fast forward two months and the money has not been returned. Now I have switched jobs and moved to a new state. They have it on record that I called them three times requesting that they mail me a paper check refund because I closed my prior checking account and opened a new one in my new state

I'd give NO stars if that was an option. My MD's office recently converted to this billing service and it's HORRIBLE. Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe the interactions I've had with HPS and the worse part is I'm forced to deal with them if I want to use my flex spending (my healthcare network no longer allows POS payment of any kind). I've tried to pay my bill online to avoid having to call their craptastic 'customer service' and that was 'down' both times. Hopefully enough patients will complain & HPS will be 86'd!

Avoid using Health Payment Systems at all costs. Over the past year I have not had a single bill filed correctly. I still have open claims from almost a year ago. After filing wrong with my insurance, they even took the copay I paid to my provider. Customer service is unhelpful and rude. The extra time investment and costs are not worth the savings they promise.
