Been here a few times so far. The drinks are delicious (margaritas and Paloma) and the tacos are bomb. My brother got the vegetable enchiladas which I would've never thought to order but damn they were satisfying. The churros are phenomenal and the nachos come with these giant round chips that I can't get enough of. Would def recommend

Good deal on margaritas for Monday that are worth it. Solid service and a fun atmosphere. Unfortunately the food is lacking. I don't know if they are trying to do a twist on how to prepare standard meals, but everything is a little off in terms of how things are usually prepared (enchiladas did not seem to be baked). Overall, it was an ok meal. Margaritas were great for $5 though. Would go back if ever in Port Jefferson, but would skip dinner and just have drinks on special.
The food that I did like: fried cauliflower with verde salsa, bean and cheese pupusa (not traditional but was good

For any Hispanics/Latinos looking for a good bite, avoid this restaurant!! I had ordered a tostada thinking it would be multiples and it was a single one, priced at $10. My girlfriend ordered tacos and it was priced at $20 for 3. And she noted the food may be preheated as well. It was dripping in vegetable oil and her margarita was pure alcohol. We left the restaurant disappointed but the waitresses were very courteous.

Yeah, unseasoned food. I'm pretty sure the steak was old and you can taste some weird anise seasoning to hide the old taste. Everything was bad. The fajitas, the chicken baritos, tacos, mac and cheese, etc. The sangria was ok, a bit watered down. I'm not sure if they've been loosing business due to covid, but it shouldn't be taken out on the food.
The place and waitstaff were great and very attentive.

I've been wanting to try this place, and it was just meh. The appetizers were good, we loved the cauliflower but the chips and salsa came with around 4 large chips...definitely not enough for all that salsa. The entree I got was a Barbacoa bowl, and it was basically all bland rice. My boyfriend had the al pastor burrito and also said it was pretty flavorless. I would recommend for appetizers maybe, but go somewhere else for your entrees.

Took my friends for brunch and was really disappointed. I spoke very highly of this place and was embarrassed today . The floor was really dirty with garbage and Utensils all over the place . Also our waitress was drinking a white claw which was super odd and unprofessional. The food was alright , the Tostones was the best part . Definitely giving this place a break after today . The owner should look into more passionate hostess and waitresses.

This used to be Port Jazz, where I went several times to jams and where my jazz band played ages ago. Kind of crazy that this is a Mexican place today. I used to come down here to take a break from studying. Anyway.

The food was delicious, drinks were great. Great chill vibe when the weather is warm to open all the windows. A Friendly bartender who smiles is always a bonus.

Mediocre at best. I had great hopes for this place, but I was completely underwhelmed. The atmosphere was great, with a very urban vibe. Aside from that there was nothing impressive. The Tacos were bland and the mixed drinks were just at par level. There's definitely many other options in the area .

10 outta 10. Have been here a few times and it's a cool spot overlooking down port with amazing tex-mex. Not authentic mexican but definitely tex-mex and tons of options. The guac is really good and they give you a mountain of it, enchiladas are great, also recommend the quesadillas. The tostones are bomb. Warning you with the margs, they are killer. Soo good but will have you slurring your words if you have more than one on an empty stomach. We all split a pitcher one day and we learned our lesson lol, guess you could say they definitely understood the assignment.

Very cool setting, like a loft room. Above Starbucks, great views of down Port. Food was delicious and huge portions. Drinks were fresh, amazing, and surprisingly cheap. A strong, delicious Margarita was $9! Taco salad was different and delicious. The chips and salsa were so good. Large chips that you break up, well done and crunchy! Wry good spot, highly recommend and it's a Snobspot for sure! #barsnobs

I love the nachos. They are amazing. But that's about it for this place.
The nachos are the only reason I come back. Service blows. I was there on a weekday and watched my server/host on their phone sitting around the entire time while we sat there waiting. It was painful. The margaritas have a lot to be desired. Not much flavor and watered down for the 3rd time now.
I keep coming back for nachos and this place has potential but staff & drinks need help.

I booked Barito for a 40th surprise and it was phenomenal!!! Paula & Matt are amazing - they both helped make the day run so smoothly and kept in constant communication to make sure I was okay , etc. the entire staff was so fun, and amazing to everyone who came. We had the entire place to ourselves and they did a great job setting up.

The drinks / food is unreal. I had a huge menu from taco bar to extras and everyone said the food was amazing. They even sent us home with the left overs !

I HIGHLY recommend using them for any private event or even just a night out. The vibe is so chill,

The food & drinks here are so good!!!
i got the Carnitas tacos & they were so good so much flavor!
I also got the Butterfly Peach Margarita it was SO strong but so good & they let you pour the marg mix into the cup & it changes the color of the drink it’s super cute.
The place is so clean and nice inside for groups going to brunch cute place to take pictures at.
The reason i only gave 3 stars is the service.
The waitress was good in the beginning but she just sat on a chair the whole time on her phone. Seeing a waitress sit down even when the restaurant into to busy gives a bad look but

The restaurant is located upstairs. Went there on a Wednesday around 3pm. The service was bad because there was only a bartender (who acted as the waitress) and a hostess. They did not have an elevator which was inconvenient to bring a stroller up. Waitress did not state the special of the day and handed us the full price drink menu. I asked for the sangria special and she said o yes that is $5 for a red or white sangria.
Sangria was standard with orange slice and apple inside. Restaurant had a nice ambience inside but unfortunately when the windows are open the vehicles driving by on the road

So I'm changing my review because I am sooo disappointed. This has always been my go to local spot for decent food and good service. Last week I decided to stop by at around 9pm. We asked to be seated and were told that the kitchen closes at 9. Not a big deal, I totally get that this whole covid and cuomo mandate is going on. Their website does say that kitchen closes at 10. We decided to try to come back again today. It was around 815pm and I asked to be seated. The hostess looks at me then turns around and starts asking the other 3 girls about what she should do. Basically they were talking

If restaurants had the Oscars....Baritos, Tacos and Cocktails would be nominated for Best Nachos on the the face of the planet!

If you follow me, you know I am taco, nacho, burrito loving girl. I will wait for hours and drive miles and miles for good tex-mex. But alas...I did not have to.

The wait was short and the service was really friendly!! (I think these people actually like working here!) But onto the food!!!

First the nachos...now please note...I will be eating these alot in the future. I have purchased my fat jeans and I am prepared to use them! Lol. In all seriousness, try them with

Listen this place is spacious and needs some decorative love. So easy to fix. Fresh coat of paint , table cloths, and some colorful pictures. Please take those blankets of the walls. Anyway the chicken fajita was ok flour tortillas would've tasted better, the guacamole needed everything else besides avocados in it, the corn fritters are not fritters at all and were bland, the chicken fajitas were very good, the tostada was covered with sauce because meat was dry. These little technical errors easily fixed. Plating was done nicely.

Great food, location and atmosphere. Food was very delicious. The red sauce was very hot. Green salsa a bit salted. But overall a good meal. Place was clean and social distancing was well done. Felt ok indoor dining. 😀

We came to dine in during pandemic but the only dining was indoors in the upstairs. While there was a good distance between the other diners, would have enjoyed it more if we were outside. The vibe is awesome and such a chill atmosphere. I chose the pick 3 for $20 tacos. The tacos were very tasty (Fried fish, Carnitas, and Duck Confit) but also small in portion. My favorite of the 3 had to be the duck. No option was available to substitute the corn tortillas for flour. I left feeling still hungry as did my sister who also did the mix 3 option. The service was a bit lackluster as they were socializing

Place is located on the 2nd level of the building so we drove past it twice (although to be fair it was at night). Long staircase up so it may be a issue for older people (not sure if there’s an elevator). Sat at the bar to eat and had an amazing margarita 👌 plus bartender was very personable. Forgot his name but amazing drinks. Salsa was delicious plus I love that they serve authentic tortillas. Very nice touch. My wife had shrimp tacos and myself steak and shrimp fajitas. Food was good and fresh but shrimp portions were small. I will def come back when I’m in Port Jeff and change my rating

Enjoyed a delicious and creative lunch at Barito. Service was great, quiet on a weekday lunch.
The fried cauliflower is in a thick batter sprinkled with cheese. You can pick from various sauces to accompany. We selected mole. It was a very earthy mole with a mild kick. Salsa Verde wings were crisp and tender.
Margarita’s Classic and on point. Perfect salted rim.
Look forward to fun summers at this very hip location. Definitely prime spot to relax from the hustle of Port Jeff and be seen or people watch.
