An effective health/fitness coach is more of a partner that helps guide, motivate, and educate you than a drill sergeant that barks orders at you in an effort to "whip you into shape." They help to bring out all of the potential, strength, joy, and gifts that you already posses. All of our coaches are Nationally Certified by one or more Nationally Accredited Certifying Agencies.

The beginning of my journey into the fitness industry started with a very shallow understanding of what exactly coaches are called to do. Like most, I began working out in order to satisfy some aesthetic based goals for myself. It didn't take long, though, to realize that exercise and improving the health of my body was directly linked to my mental and spiritual strength as well.

The West Texas Sports and Wellness Institute is a locally owned and operated personal training and group exercise studio. From weight loss to chronic pain, youth athletics and nutritional counseling, the Health/Fitness Coaches at the West Texas Sports and Wellness Institute have the experience and knowledge to help you attain your goals.
True, sustainable progress comes not from "overhauling, " but from building transferable skills and habits. If you're frustrated with the unrealistic - "six week ab" - promises and done with the crash diets, then we just might make a great team! We get it. A ton of the programs out there are extreme and intimidating - not to mention, OVERCROWDED.
And they keep the focus on the positive but know when it is time for a crucial conversation. Coaches are all these things and much more! They explore the potential, the resources, and the gifts inside each of their clients and help bring them to action. More than anything, coaches understand the importance of "deep health" - the overall well-being of their clients and the balance between values, priorities, and behaviors.

I love their classes. They will work with you if you have an injury or if you are just beginning your new journey of fitness.
It’s a great atmosphere and small enough to not feel like you are just a number!

When I came to West Texas Sports I couldn’t walk for more than 15 minutes straight due to disk issues in my back. For four years I’ve been in a downward cycle of trying to get into shape, back flare up causing weeks of recovery, and then starting all over. Mary-Caitlyn designed a workout specifically for my needs and and after just a few sessions I was hiking for an hour a day, 2-3 times per week. She helped me understand and strengthen my core in a way that takes the pressure off of my back and onto the muscles that SHOULD be supporting my movements. I now have the confidence and knowledge

I love this place! My wife and I have been coming here for almost two years because of the personalized training we receive. We also bring our young children who love the play room while we workout. WTSWI offers many courses throughout the week which allows me and my wife to go at the same time or different times that fit our schedules. If you are looking for a place that will support you no matter where you are in your physical journey and treat you like family, this is the place. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

The weekly encouragement I receive from WTSWI and my bootcamp class is priceless. I don't know where I'd be in my fitness goals without them. I've never been a fan of the big gym atmosphere so the smaller class size and friendliness of WTSWI is just what I need to keep me on track with my fitness. Plus they have great insight, training techniques, and always have your well-being in mind. No intimidation. Just motivation and encouragement. The Tuesday/Thursday 6:30pm class is the best!!
