This review is well overdue! I have been going to Dr.Paraiso's office in Mountain View for the last 7 years. He is by far the best dentist I have ever been to.
Here's a glimpse of a typical biannual cleaning appointment:
1. You get 100% Dr. Paraiso
There are no other dentists at this office. You really get 100% attention from Dr. Paraiso during your visit. He does your entire cleaning every time, not an assistant or junior denist. There are no "other" dentists to delegate your appointment to.
2. He is honest & ethical
He takes digital photos and X-rays of your mouth

Dr. P and the whole staff rocks, went in today for a finish up of a root canal and sitting here thinking how great my mouth feels. Dr. P never tries to inflate the invoice, in fact he's the opposite, he makes sure to do only what's necessary for me. He'd rather send me to a specialist than to do something he doesn't think will turn out perfect, plus I always get to watch my favorite movies while he works....

I have been going to Dr. P for the last few years, and his team is awesome. I just finished an appointment for some replacement of old bonding, and he and his team have literally sculpted my smile into a sweet work of art ;D

On my first visit to Dr. Paraiso, he told me I had numerous teeth with cavities that I needed to get filled immediately, and he wanted to schedule a filling appointment with me (including handing me an estimate showing how many hundreds of dollars each tooth cost). I was skeptical and held off on the appointment, and I ended up visiting another dentist to get a second opinion. The second dentist told me he didn't see any teeth that required filling, so I didn't end up getting any.

Wonderful dentist! I recently moved to the area and needed to find a dentist. Dr. Paraiso was helpful in explaining everything during the exam and used up-to-date tools to complete the cleaning. His staff is friendly and loves to joke around to help make it a little less intimidating. They're even setting up Chromecast to help with the boredom!

Dr. Paraiso is demeaning and condescending. He insisted on doing a filling for a tooth based on something on an x-ray. He showed me the x-ray and mocked me when I couldn't see what he could see. I reluctantly agreed to get the filling. When he asked the staff to schedule it, they suggested an amount of time necessary and he wanted a shorter amount of time. The appointment arrived and he ended up running short on time, so short that whenever he asked the staff to hand him something, he would bark "come on, come on, hurry up" at them during the few seconds it took them to retrieve

New to the Bay Area - BEST dentist visit I have ever had!
Started out my visit with digital x-rays while I watched a nature documentary (so awesome)
Then I watched an educational video about periodontal disease (which you do NOT want to mess with - my dad has it)
I had a thorough exam with pictures and I felt like I was actually being taught and involved in any next steps in my care. Dr. Paraiso and his staff (Crystal & Carla) were so friendly and helpful and I would recommend this practice to anyone!!

Dr. Paraiso has been my dentist since about 2003. He is really great and one of the best dentists I have ever had. As others have said he is very friendly and easy to talk to about work that needs to be done.
He is extremely well trained in both general dentistry and state of the art cosmetic items. I have never had any issues with his work.
I really do not think you will find anyone better in the Bay Area. I moved over one hour away to the East Bay years ago but still make the twice a year trip as he is that good!
Also his current assistant Crystal and office manager Carla are very friendly

If you are looking for a dentist and great staff please check this oracare dental, i have some problems with a crown, call to check for appt (couple days before christmas) and they take care on the same day and on top of that the staff was great.

Ok, seriously now. If you're in the Bay Area and need an awesome dentist, the way to go is with Dr. Joseph Paraiso of Oracare Dental (www.oracaredental.com). I still can't believe that just the other day, my tooth was cracked in a couple of places and I was having severe pain with severe earache.

I'm a bad patient - I am always months behind on my appointments, do not floss as often as I should - but I am so glad that I do take care of myself enough to see Dr. Paraiso. He has taken care of my teeth through two pregnancies - taking care of them with minimal fuss (ie no x-rays, injections, etc). I always feel he takes the time to show me what he's going to do and why - I never feel like I'm taken advantage of or ripped off. Friendly front office staff too.

I and several of my friends have been going to Dr Paraiso for years. We love his friendly staff that is eager to help. They are always on top of things. I had issues with my insurance where my employer had incorrect data on me. The staff notified me of the situation weeks in advance of my appointment so that it could be correct in time for my visit.
Dr Paraiso takes the time to explain each procedure and is aware of any discomfort you may be experiencing. In examinations, he uses new technologies to aid in determine the need for filling or to keep an eye on for future visits.
