Forward Wellness aims to help all families live full and productive lives, build our community, and make real change for everyone. If you've been feeling hopeless or struggling with a problem in your life that feels unsurmountable, individual therapy could help you improve your everyday life. Couples and families who are going through transitions and major changes in their lives may benefit from support or guidance from an outside listener.
Our goal is to reduce barriers to access to mental health care and decrease the stigma of getting support. With this in mind, we aim to support the community and reduce barriers wherever possible. We believe that one of the best ways we can help the community is by having more quality trained clinicians available to provide care.

Services
At Forward Wellness we strive to support all people and families to access quality mental health care. We want to reduce the stigma of mental health care while increasing access to information with a socially conscious mind. Moving through discomfort to transformation is magnificent and as therapists, we are honored to be a witness.
When I am not supporting other clinicians to thrive, I am supporting families and providers moving through the pain of trauma and loss. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC), Certified in Perinatal Loss Care (CPLC), and Certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). I believe therapy can provide much-needed support and empathy to help find a deeper understanding of yourself as you build on your inner strength.
Individual therapy is so helpful for so many people because it's the best way to get truly customized therapy. Group therapy may have its own set of numerous advantages but if you want more control over the pacing of your therapy, the methods used, the amount of analysis or feedback you can receive, and the timing of your sessions, you owe it to yourself to look into individual therapy.
Through our two locations, we are able to serve more people in the Pittsburgh Area. Our Squirrel Hill location, the Reproductive Counseling Center, is perfect for families with little ones in tow. The Downtown location, our OG office, is easily accessible on the bus line. We are happy to see you at either location and have amazingly talented clinicians at both!
Couples who are going through transitions and major changes in their lives may benefit from support or guidance from an outside listener. Seeking a therapist may be exactly what your relationship needs to thrive. Utilizing therapy to support family systems can mean all the difference in ending the cycle of pain and suffering.

Very unprofessional. I showed up for my first appointment and was left sitting in the waiting room for 20 min. I was on my lunch hour and very nervous for my first appointment.
When I finally saw the therapist she didn't seem too apologetic and told me she was having a bad week. I was paying her for counseling not the other way around. It's a big step for people to start therapy and extra consideration should be given to ensure a welcoming and professional environment when it is someone's first appointment. This was not a good way to start off with a new client.

I have utilized the consulting services that forward wellness provides as a clinician in training, and I am now very happy to say that my requirements for licensure are satisfied. The professionalism and competence with which Jodie conducts group supervision is extremely helpful for new clinicians. Groups are structured so that information and discussion on counseling techniques and theory are balanced with case studies and guidance for supervisee's clinical practice. I believe that this experience was excellent preparation for my current position as an outpatient therapist and I look forward to
