My son has been going to Bravado since his first haircut at 2 years old. He started out skittish and scared, and now loves going to see his favorite stylist, Marta. She is so calm and careful with little kids, and she gives him a great cut every time. He's almost 5 now and wouldn't let anyone cut his hair except Marta. She is wonderful and worth every penny!

I tried Bravado a few weeks ago when I couldn't find another salon on Capitol hill that was either open, had openings for a walk-in or didn't charge a lot, as in north of $35 for a man's haircut.
I arrived wearing a mask, and was greeted by Marta also wearing a mask. She used an instant-read thermometer to make sure I didn't have a fever, and I was happy to use hand sanitizer. She wore rubber gloves and of course a mask while cutting my hair, and most important of all, she followed my request for a trim, not a full hair cut, and I was really pleased with the results. I came here for a haircut a few months back and LOVED it. I decided to get balayage done since I enjoyed my first trip so much, but unfortunately my hair has been completely messed up from a color perspective. My stylist didn’t do a balayage at all, rather I have completely random chunky spots of blonde throughout my head. Not only does it look bad, but I was charged an extra $30 when I paid. They didn’t offer to fix it or anything, just sent me on my way. I scheduled another appointment with another salon to fix it, which is such a bummer because I really loved Bravado when they cut my hair

Every moment of my first visit to Bravado was stress free and enjoyable. All of the ladies were very friendly and genuinely kind people. Check-in ans COVID procedures were seamless, and I appreciated how seriously they took their clients safety.
I received an amazing balayage, cut, and blow out from Elsy. Even just meeting me she was able to instantly understand what I was looking for and gave me exactly that. Best of all, that’s exactly how my hair looked at the end! I can’t wait to come back and make this my regular spot!

The service was pleasant and the cut so welcomed! The ladies at Bravado are fantastic! I had not had a cut since spring and they made me feel like a new person. I was also happy to find a women's cut under $70. $65 for just the cut, no wash & dry needed. Bright and clean studio, on-street parking, good location in Eastern Market.

Bravado is my go to place for highlights and a haircut. Alisa has been incredible in keeping my hair healthy and always looking wonderful! I have naturally brown hair, and she is able to get the perfect look every time. I 100% recommend her and the team at Bravado for anyone that needs to make corrections from other hair salons (like I did) or is looking for a new place to get their highlights done / first timers!

Unfortunately, after several successful visits, our last visit did not go well and our baby boy's hair needs to grow out. We tried another place, which seems like a better fit.
Thankfully it's been over a month since our son's bangs were cut too short and very crooked. Too bad since the rest of the haircut was really great - but the bangs really came out a mess. Be sure to have the time to get it right and leave hair longer (rather than too short), and try to avoid any rush.

I love this place for haircuts for my son. He's had cuts by both Marta and Alicia and they're amazing. He hates haircuts and refuses to sit in the chair, so they've cut his hair on our laps and, yesterday, Alicia worked around him and gave him a beautiful cut while he played at their lovely play area. She made him more comfortable by the end and over time he's getting more and more comfortable with cuts. We've been going there since he was about 1 1/2 and he's now almost 3. Highly recommend. I love this place for my son's haircuts! They have a row of kids cars and tv's with curious gorge playing. It is literally the only place he is happy getting his haircut. Alissa is wonderful. His hair always looks adorable and stylish. The kid is more stylish than I am. We are so lucky to have Bravado on Capitol Hill.

I took my sons (3 yr old & 5 yr old) there a few weeks ago for hair cut. The space was so filthy, hair all over the tables, chairs, and toys. I should have walked out then, but one of parents from listserv had recommended this place, so I thought I gave it a try.
As soon as the boys sat down, it became so obvious that the older lady who cut their hair wasn't comfortable doing it. I asked her to wet their hair a bit so hair wouldn't get all over the place, she said yes but didn't do anything about it. Then she repeatedly telling them 'don't move, or you will have holes

This is the only place I've taken my 3 year old to get a haircut and they did a good job both times. Pretty standard setup from what I can tell: the kids sit in a "car" and watch some TV while getting their hair cut. Works well and there's a play area for siblings while they wait. Price is great too; $25 (tip not included). I will keep using Bravado in Eastern Market.

My experience at Bravado just trying to get a decent blowout was very disappointing - less pampering, and more manhandling.
I had a cold quick shampoo in a sink with a lot of someone else's hair. The stylist yanked and tugged awkwardly at my hair, which became a tangled mess because she used a total of 5 brushes simultaneously, and then the brushes wouldn't come out of my hair... The sound and pain of hair ripping was unbelievable - even the girls waiting on the couch were staring. Poked in the eyes a few times, hit in the face with the brush handle leaving a light bruise, and finally
