Your appointments are very important to our Salon Quency team. We hold your appointments just for you and ask that if you must cancel or reschedule any appointment, you please provide us reasonable notice. Less than 24 hours for haircut appointments and 36 hours for color/chemical apppointments will result in a charge equal to 50% of reserved appointment(s).

I just moved to DC and needed to find a place to get a haircut. I saw the website and liked it and like the ease of making an appointment on line. I made the appointment with Quency Valencia. The salon is fun and upbeat and everyone is friendly and welcoming. Appointment was right on time. I have a 15yr old sister who wanted a specific "messy" style trim. She actually had a picture to show said stylist exactly what she wanted. Instead she gives him a heads up yeah the sides for sure need to be thinner to match this pic. So all the stylist does is thin the sides. Instead of actually executing the picture he just did the easy/lazy thing. I went in Tuesday for a Haircut. This is defiantly a "churn and burn", don't expect to get anymore attention than 30 minutes.
Anyway, I needed my haircut for men, my hair is med/long length. Stylist completely messed up the cut. Paid to much attention to one side. I raised this point and he said it was fine (even though I noticed him hovering over 1 side). I think at the end he realized his next appointment was coming in, so he rushed the other side. Come a day later my hair is messed up, going to have to get someone else to fix it.
If you want a barber style cut, short hair/clipper maybe this

The stylist and staff were all super nice and it was easy to schedule appointment. However, my haircut (I just wanted a simple trim and very subtle face frame and maybe a little bit of long layers) had me in tears when I got home and really looked at it. The stylist said we would only take 1.5 inches off and it is much, much shorter. Also super dramatic and short layers are not what I wanted, and it makes my hair look absolutely horrible when I dry it myself. Perhaps it's my fault for choosing a men's salon, but this place was recommended to me by a friend and I made the mistake of going for just a trim on my long hair. Waiting, chatting with the stylist, hair washing, cutting, and drying took 25 minutes to complete, the quickest cut of my life. Emmanuel is a phenomenal barber - he's meticulous, taking plenty of time to gather your input while cutting and styling your hair, to ensure that you walk out with the perfect cut. As a new person living in Washington DC, I needed to find a competent stylist for my hair because one bad cut ruins one's look. I was nervous about trying new stylist. I found Salon Quency via an internet search "the best stylist in Washington DC" and found a list. I was highly skeptical of many of the salons on the list because many of the stylist did not appear to meet my standards which are very high. I came into Salon Quency for the first time about two months ago. Before then, I went into each haircut knowing I wouldn't get exactly what I want, but it would eventually grow back. I got my first haircut today at salon quency. This was recommended to me by a friend. I had Emmanuel cut my hair. This is probably the best haircut I've gotten in 10 years. Not only did Emmanuel do a great job and knew exactly what I wanted, the overall haircut experience at the salon was also great. The overall atmosphere/experience also adds to why this place is outstanding.
As a guy who doesn't usually have the best luck with haircuts, five minutes into the haircut I knew I was in good hands with Emmanuel/found the right place. I will definitely be coming back here for my haircuts

Did I receive a professional cut at a fair price? Yes. It's not like they sliced my ear or I have to wear a hat or a wig. But it's also nothing like what I asked for. Despite this being a unisex salon, they really can't seem to resist the urge to do anything but fades for men, and took at least 3 inches more off the back and sides than I requested. Fair warning that if one of your Covid revelations is that you like your hair longer, and you just want it cut to look cleaner and more professional, this is not the place for you. They will cut it like it's 2019.

These are the best haircuts I've ever gotten. I just went to Quency for my second time after he did such a phenomenal job a few months ago, and he somehow knows what I want better than I do. Could not recommend this place enough -- I've already sent three friends there and each of them agree that this is the best salon they've ever been to. Incredibly talented stylists, super nice, quick, professional -- the works. I hope I stay in DC for a long time, just to know I can see Quency whenever the time arises for a good cut.

Melvin was extremely attentive, efficient and knowledgeable. I showed up with my COVID-aged (awkward length, uneven, untamed) pixie cut, and he whipped it up into a masterpiece. Thank you Melvin for your excellent work; I will most definitely be back!

I have been going to Salon Quency for a couple of years now and have always had a great experience. When they were closed during the stay-at-home order I was wondering how they were going to reopen and make sure it was a safe environment for their customers and staff. No doubt Quency was thinking the same and has taken extra steps to ensure public health and safety are a top priority.

Salon Quency's online booking system is easy and convenient. I'm the kind of guy who likes doing as much on the computer as possible, so extra points to these folks for that.
