At Small to Tall Pediatric Dentistry, our goal is to make a difference in your child's dental experience. But what's so different about our office? What makes our approach to dental care for children unique? For over 30 years, we have been a local and trusted resource for promoting children's oral health.
We are dedicated to perfecting the art of successful pediatric dental experiences through education and innovative dental care for patients and their families. We try our best to accommodate our patients as much as possible when scheduling appointments. We have found that children with extensive dental work or preschool children are better to be seen early in the morning when they are fresher and can have a more positive experience.
Debbie grew up in western Washington, graduating from Elma High School. Married to her high school sweetheart since 1978, Debbie and Dale raised two grown sons who live in the area. Widowed in 2016, Debbie's hobbies include listening to music, reading and quilting. Debbie earned her Fellowing in the American Academy of Dental Office Managers and has been with the practice since 1994.

I had a pretty negative experience here.
We had an 11:15 appointment for routine stuff and I figured I would take a long early lunch, nbd. Showed up at 1105, checked in and started waiting. At 1120 the receptionist approached me and said they were running 5 or 10 minutes behind and they'd be with me shortly. Said that's fine and kept waiting.
At 1145, after watching multiple people who arrived after me get called, I reapproached the receptionist and said half hour behind was pretty wild. She agreed and went to the back to check our status. Came back quickly and said it would be at least 15 more

Small to Tall pediatric dentistry was by far the best dental experience I've ever had. My very anxious 7 year old daughter felt very comfortable with Dr. Craig and insisted on sending her a thank you card after two difficult procedures that felt like a breeze thanks to the delightful staff, Dr. CRAIG and Dr. LEE, Anesthesiologist. Thank you!!! We look forward to the next visit! (Never thought I would ever say that about a dentist!!!)

Small to Tall is DIALED IN. From scheduling our first appointments, taking my nervous-about-sugarbugs-kids (I have four) into a new place and being welcomed and treated with dignity, walking through x-rays and exams, and visiting the treasure box drawer filled with sugar-free gum...all of these moments added up to a supreme first experience for our family. Dr. Ruder was attentive, funny, and engaged so well with my kiddos. You will love Small to Tall! I'm someone who really cares about the details and there is an attention to all of them at this practice. Really happy!

My son was referred here to have a tooth extracted. They were absolutely wonderful! They explained everything as they went along and made him feel very comfortable. They were confident and accommodating with… his unique needs. I decided to move all of his care to this office and my son jumped for joy at the counter! Can't recommend them enough.

My child really struggled to go to the dentist before coming here and looks forward to it now. Her regular dentist here is a gem and the staff here is wonderful. Probably no better in our area. The only neutral feedback to be given is in regards to awareness: another dentist filled in for her regular one and I asked regarding orthodontia because it was mentioned before at a prior visit as a possibility when another family member brought her in - as a single earner household we would need to save for such an expense. This dentist kind of shrugged it off because even the referral would be a ways

Hands down, the BEST dentist! I was super nervous about even coming in, my daughter has huge anxiety and freaks out. Due to our previous dental visits (at a different dentist) I was very hesitant to even bring her. By the time we left, she was so happy and allowed them to do xrays and all. These people are professional, and get the work done. My daughter now has a positive feel for the dentist.

My daughter has the worse dental anxiety when it come to Mr. tickle brush. We were seeing another office and couldn’t get past that part. We were then sent over to small to tall, and had the best experience ever. My daughter overcame her fear of Mr. tickle brush. They are so sweet at this office and explained everything step by step. Which makes… all the difference in the world when you are scared of the unknown. That help my daughter a ton. She was able to complete all her treatment in one visit. Thank you Small to tall. Great Office and very accommodating to your needs. I'm in the Dental field and therefore probably have high expectations. Dr Rowley listened to my concerns and completed all treatment for my 5 year old in 2 comfortable visits. He even sent a card asking how my son was doing. This office goes above and beyond and has high quality care.

I am extremely picky about dentists especially when it comes to my children. This dentist office is truly remarkable. They cater to the youngest of children to the teens. They have a play area for the children to play so you are not sitting in a stuffy dentist office. They make it so comfortable you are at ease. Books for those little ones that want to read. One of the scariest things for children is the dentist office. Heck for that matter is is the same for adults. These people nailed it. Great office! Very organized, it's like a well oiled machine with great care! They have everything to make children comfortable! My 8 year old was hesitant to come here because it was not his regular general dentist where he likes to go, but i brought him here because he needed a treatment with a laser which this office had, he loved it here. A couple of months ago, I endured one of the worst weekends imaginable. My toddler suffered a terrible accident through which she sustained extensive damage to four of her top teeth. This was on a Friday. After she received initial care at a local ER, she was left requiring a visit to an actual pediatric dentist.
I called Small to Tall Dentistry at the recommendation of another Dentist and spoke with Dr. Rudder. This was on a Sunday afternoon and after hours; he was the on-call Dentist.

So I'm a late mama. What I mean is that my 3.5 year old has never been to the dentist. Honestly, I was worried. But I finally did it! And I went to the right place!! They were so nice, starting with the appointment. I put my contact info in online, which really means I may or may not hear from them. I was called the very next morning, and set up for the following day! I made sure they accepted my insurance so that I would have to be surprised or anything. This is a great place . My son was afraid of the Denist at first we started coming here and he has loved the dentist ever since. Dr. Rudder is incredible. When they did my sons teeth cleaning they put a movie on for him to distract him and he had a great visit. I give them 5stars and recommend this place to all children of all ages.

We have been seeing Dr. Ruder at Small to Tall for 5 years with our now 3 children, and have had such a positive experience. They tailor the experience for children, making what could be an anxiety-producing event one that my kids actually look forward to! Took my son here for his first dental appointment. I had expected it to be scary for my son but each staff member took their time and let him know exactly what they were going to do. Kathy was our hygienist and she was friendly and upbeat. My son LOVED her. No problems cleaning and polishing his teeth. Dr. Ruder came in for the exam, and counted his teeth with superheroes. GREAT JOB all around. Billing was upfront and no surprise costs came up at the end of our appointment. Kathy even did a follow up call a few days after our appointment if any questions came up.
