Dr. Coates and his staff are always courteous and professional. Dr. Coates will see his patient's in a timely manner when an emergency comes up. I have always had an excellent experience while visiting the office, and he does great work. I highly recommend Dr. Coates to anyone who requires quality dental care.

I had a great experience with Katherine my new Dental Hygienist. She was very thorough and communicative during my appointment. Also, the new admin office staff is positive and customer service oriented. I had been dealing with the former office manager for over a year without resolution and the new staff started working toward resolution right away.

My dental hygienist was amazing! She was gentle, listened to my feedback, took action, educated, and provided potential solutions to my evaluation. Unfortunately, Dr. Coates walked in and never said “Hello.” I was the one to say “Hello” to him. However, I do receive a monthly statement from their team because they fail to understand an overpayment in one visit of $30 should offset an underpayment of $30 on a future visit.

They are all nice and perform well, but the office over charges basic services (x-rays, cleaning, etc.) that the insurance won’t fully cover, so they leave you with the remaining balance. That was extraordinary to me considering it seems arbitrarily priced compared to competitors, so I reconsidered any advanced services fearing this would go way out budget.
They are also a bit aggressive in getting you to return, but I get that not everyone sees dental services as essential and need reminders.

I have nothing but praise for Dr. Coates and his staff. We are visiting Long Beach and the crown on one of my wife's teeth came off. They gave us a same day appointment, found that the crown was cracked, ordered a replacement, and just over a week later set it in place - problem solved. For myself, not having seen a dentist for some six years due to living in a remote part of the world, my teeth were X-rayed, measured, and cleaned. Dr. Coates was very professional and thorough in examining my teeth, and in explaining my dental issues, as well as what needed to be done. We will certainly be visiting

Almost four years ago I moved out of state with my family. As I have a small business in LB, I've chosen to still come back to Dr. Coates' office for my cleanings. I appreciate that he has a deeper understanding of the connection of our oral health to our over all health. He has a wealth of experience and takes the time to educate his patients.

I highly recommend Long Beach Dentist! Dr. Coates and his staff are extremely friendly and professional. The dental hygienist Danna performed an efficient teeth cleaning, made me feel very welcomed and at ease, and she was a pleasure to talk to. Dr. Coates was very personable and knowledgeable. He performed a thorough oral exam, and even took the time to educate me on what to expect regarding dental care for my newborn.
