I brought my son in for his first salon cut this evening. First of all, I want to be clear that we were very happy with our stylist, Mak, and the cut. The space was clean and well decorated. If I were rating the salon just on that part of the experience, I would give them a 5. However, I was very disappointed to hear the other stylist tell the little girl she was shampooing "Beauty is pain. The older you get, the more you'll understand that."
Honestly, I thought we'd agreed as a society that we weren't going to say those kinds of things to girls anymore, let alone kids. I wasn't too happy about

My two year old son went in for his first haircut and we only planned a trim .. came out with very uneven choppy hair overall and I’m very upset. A 30$ haircut and now I can only hope it won’t take long to grow out of being so choppy at the least. Ruined my trust in anyone touching my sons hair . The front is very short and he now has very short bangs and the back is two different lengths as well. A lot more cut then a trim. We loved my sons long hair and wanted to wait for a full cut till he was old enough to decide . Definitely won’t be going to get his haircut again for a long time . He

Amazing! Brought my daughter in for her first haircut and she had a fantastic time. We did a cut and conditioner combo, she loved choosing cotton candy scent and relaxing like a spa day. They let her choose her favorite Disney show Bluey and added sparkles to her hair at the end. I did a cut and conditioner at the same appointment and it was perfect.
