My 19 year old daughter was in the area for an appointment when her car broke down at 6 AM. She had no idea where she was and pulled in here--boy am I glad she did. Not only did the staff working help her call a taxi to get her to her appointment, they fixed the car and get her back on her way at the end of the day. Chase was great to work with--as we live out of state-- he called us several times to let us know what was wrong and what needed to be done to get her rolling again. We are thankful that of all places for her to be lost and broken down, it was here.

My last visit was weird, the gentleman who did my estimate snatched out if my hands when I said I wanted to think about it. He also had a different car name and model on the estimate. He then made a copy and ripped the bottom part and gave it...well, basically threw it at me. I will not rate zero because I have been going there for 20 years to do car inspections and nobody had been this rude. But for sure will not be back.

I used to go to Jermantown Shell for safety inspections until I moved to Chantilly about 8 years ago. After the move I started using a shop near my new place and it's been ok. But last year they wouldn't pass my car unless work was done to the front break. I was somewhat suspicious but just wanted to be done with it so I let them. This year before going in I was joking with my wife whether they'd pull the same trick, and I'd get a second opinion should they. Lo and behold, the report came in and the inspection failed due to rust on the rear break pads and rotors. Mind you I had put at most several

Needed air desperately. limped off the highway , no clue where I was. my vehicle indicated 3 tires at full pressure 32. rear Dr. side sudden drop to 27 !! Very far from home I didn't want to have to wait all night for road svc to change a flat.
used their "Working" air machine. it deflated my tire down to 24 psi !! wouldn't put Any air in !! at least I was able to Deflate the other 3 to 28 & 29 psi while I idled around in the middle of the night searching a station w a Machine that worked !!

I love these guys. They are honest, they're good people, and when we've had hiccups with repairs --which happen, no matter how good the provider -- they have been honest, fixed it at no costs, and been very professional. And Chase, the co-owner, is very patient with me, as I don't really have a voice number--pretty much just FaceTime and iMessage, so I generally need a text message when they need to get in touch.
Highly recommend these guys as fair and decent.

Avoid if you are doing repairs or diagnostics on your car!
I took my car for a Safety Inspection here on 09/02/2020 to Jermantown Shell and due to a light not functioning failed the test. I agreed to perform a diagnostic on the vehicle to determine what needed replaced/fixed for which I was charged $100.
Diagnostic result was that "intelligent relay" of the car needed replaced and fixing quote was $350+ which I found too high and passed. I ordered the part myself and had the part replaced elsewhere and went to get 2nd opinion only to find out that diagnostics done on my car was incorrect.

This is a perfectly acceptable place to get your state inspection done, and there's a chance I'll go back. It took forever, which isn't entirely on them (it's the end of the month), but when they finally got to my car, I asked them if I could leave my number and go somewhere else and they said yes, they'd call when my car was done. That call never came - we came back about 40 minutes later to find my car sitting in the lot, finished. It passed on the first try, and they didn't try to sell me any services, which was nice. Just put gas in and full/ stopper was broke or something and gas was leaking all over my car.
No body came out until I went in and someone came out saying"I saw it" with a bag of sand, sprinkling on the ground.
And no sorry nothing and told me to move the car so he could sprinkle more area. Very rude.
I just moved in the area and I will never use that gas station. Telling all my family and friends in the area also.

My car wasn’t starting so I walked to the nearest Shell for some oil. What could have been a terrible night turned into a great experience! Charles (aka Chase) the owner let me borrow an oil funnel/rags and even offered me a ride back to my car (somehow he knew it wasn’t the oil). When I came back with my mom to return the funnel he checked my… battery and showed us it had dead cells. Then he gave me a new one while he charged mine overnight so I could get to work the next day! We were there for about 45 minutes and he was just as courteous and helpful to all the other customers

This was my third time visiting this shop for car care and their service is great. It's tough finding a reliable, honest shop, that tells it like it is and won't try to take advantage of you. This time I went for a pre-purchase inspection of a car I was interested in (ended up not getting the car). They were efficient, yet thorough and didn't break the bank. Great service, polite, and professional.

I could say that the value Jermantown Shell provided me was plugging my tire that was punctured flush by a screw last evening, but that wouldn't be the whole story.
The real value they provided was restoring my day. I'm in a very busy time and when my tire was punctured, I dreaded the extra to do because, well, these things are never convenient.
This a.m., I dropped off my kids at camp, hit Yelp to find a tire repair shop and found JS with a great rating just 1.5 miles from the camp dropoff. I rolled in and they immediately put Chase on the job. I was in and out in less than 30 mins

Jermantown Shell has truly impressed me with the customer service, prices, and their efficiency. I called to get a price estimate a day before I came in and I was immediately given the estimate over the phone. I was told that their shop is first come first serve so it would be best to come in first thing in the morning (8 am) to get the service I need done as soon as possible!
I had to get an oil change, tire rotation, and get my brake fluids topped off. One of the best perks about this place is that with an oil change, they will top off your windshield wiper fluids, brake fluids, check your tire
