What is now Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. was founded by, the late Ralph V. Cromes. He opened the family business in January of 1939 with his partner, Ralph Wiessinger, who would later leave the business. At that time, the funeral home was named Cromes-Wiessinger Funeral Home. In 1975, the business went through another name change to Cromes Funeral Home, Inc. when it became incorporated.

Unlike many funeral homes that contract with an off-site, third party cremation provider, we are the only funeral service provider in Sidney to have our own crematory located on-site at our facility. Your loved one will never leave our care, assuring you the highest level of respect and care. Cremation is the process of using intense heat and flame to reduce the body to bone fragments and ashes.
Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. is an authorized representative of Nickol Monument Company in Versailles, Ohio. We have an on-site display of many of their products and a catalog to assist with your selection. We can also set up an appointment for you to visit Nickol Monument to view their products in person if you prefer.

Dealing with and arranging for two deaths in our family that occurred in such a short time span, we were devastated, but, Cromes-Edwards made the process as painless as possible. Erik and the rest of the staff helped us every step of the way, answered all of our questions, promptly returned all calls and emails, and offered assistance with anything we asked for.

The day of my Dad's funeral, my brother and I arrived early. We spoke a a man who was in charge. We simply asked who all was there. The man rudely asked who we were. We stated the deceased man's children. We said our names. He stated he would wait to answer any questions when the point of contact arrived. Our sister. How incredibly rude of this man to dismiss us on our day of grieving. We were treated as if we were not relatives of the deceased. I do not recommend this place at all.

My father passed away on a Saturday night late and since we had already contacted Cromes-Edwards a few days earlier they made an appointment to talk to us the following day.
Jeremy did an excellent job explaining what they offer. He helped us set up a nice farewell to my Dad even in the midst of the pandemic. He took care of all the necessities to… make sure we had the paperwork to cremate him and to lay him to rest within days.
Since they have a crematorium on their property it only took a few days from start to finish! That is a plus!
I highly recommend them!

When my brother passed away his funeral arrangements were made through Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home & Crematory. We are very pleased to say the service we received was very professional and very caring. Mr. Erik Edwards explained everything to us that had been prearranged and what options we had for adding personal touches to the service.
