Kaprelian Carpet Company was established in 1969 by current owner Gabriel Kaprelian on Hudson Street in Ridgewood, NJ. In 1972 the business was moved to its main location at 211 East Ridgewood Avenue. In 1974 John Yilanjian (a childhood friend of Gabriel's) joined the company as a partner.
