Visited Makas because couldn’t find any appointment that day else where to get a hair cut. Overall, not the best experience. From the start didn’t feel welcome. My hair cut (the girl did it) not the best at all. Some of my hair looks like she didn’t cut it or something. I wanted layers in front. She did give somewhat layers but not what I was asking for. Not a pleasant experience, I need to go somewhere else to get my hair fixed now…

My second time to have my hair done. Cut, style , roots and highlight.
I was lucky because no one was there. After Alex finished my color he washed and use regular conditioner on my hair. When he start drying my hair, I asked him what about toning my hair? He said he did it,
Which was a lie, he insisted that he did. I know for a fact that he did not put any toning in my colored hair. Toning you leave it on hair for a least 15 mins. I was the only customer in the shop so I let it go. He cut my hair not following how I wanted it cut. I wished I did not have him a tip.
I will not definitely Recomend

I booked an appointment here for Keratine Treatment because I saw all the 5-start reviews for this place. I was tired of my hair and I needed a change. I tried other places in the past and I noticed as soon as I get out of the Salon after the treatment, my hair was not soft or straight as I would've expected it to be.
Alex was patient and was careful to apply heat on every strand. He was hospitable and very helpful as he discussed with me hair coloring options that would be suitable for my hair and skin tone. I enjoyed getting my hair done while sipping on amazing Turkish coffee.

My first visit was great - found the salon on Groupon, reached out and got the Groupon price honored. Quick appointment - amazingly fast and precise service - great results... 5 star review worthy. For my second visit, I scheduled online - chose what I wanted and was prepared to pay @$350. At the appointment, after consultation we changed a few things. I was quoted @ $600. Crazy, yes, but was having a lot done. When I went to pay I was charged even more - they included SALES TAX!! That's not even a thing!! I didn't know that for sure at the time, so I paid it, but when I got an email

I wanted to like Makas Hair Salon, I really did, however the end result left something to be desired.
I went in for a root touch up. I informed Alex I have hard to cover grays and showed him where I was most concerned. He said no problem and went to work. He is quick at what he does, I was in and out within 2 hours.
However, after one or two washes, my grays are again very visible in the spots that I told him were hard to cover. I want to clarify, where the gray is visible is NOT new hair growth.
As a side note, if paying my credit/debit card they add a certain percentage to use of the machine

Had a great experience at this Salon today. Alex colored my hair and did a Keratine treatment and haircut. My hair looks great and feels amazing. The salon was very clean and Alex was great to chat with. Will definitely be going back and recommending him to my friends!

Oh my gosh!! I loved the Brazilian blowout I got back in November!! It's now April and it's still in my hair. I lived in LA for 8 years and had to get them every 3-4 months and they were great, but I can't believe this one has lasted this long. Alex is super professional and great at what he does! I live in OKC and I got a horrible one there that didn't last a week, so I flew to visit my brother in H-Town and thought I'd give Alex a try bc he had a great deal for $150 for a Brazilian blowout. I'm SO GLAD I did and I will 100% be visiting my brother again when I need

I love coming here for my Keratin treatment! The Keratin treatment last for months!

If you have dry-frizzy hair and are looking for a treatment to help with the frizziness, try the Keratin treatment in this salon. You won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend it!

I had a lovely experience here and my hair looked AH-MAZING after my service! Alex was professional, polite, nice and practiced excellent covid procedures. I felt safe and comfortable. I got a hair cut, Moroccan oil treatment, shampoo/condition and blowout. The products he used smelled incredible and he was fast and efficient with all services. The blowout lasted me over 7 days even in this humid and ever changing Houston weather. I'd highly recommend giving him a shot to make your hair look fabulous this new year!!
