The story of Liner Legal's Deaf Advocacy practice begins with a first kiss. Andrew met his wife, Keri, when at age 13, they attended the same sleepaway camp in Pennsylvania. Keri, who is originally from New York, was born profoundly Deaf. What started with a first kiss, unfortunately, was followed by 18 years of time apart.
If you have Long-Term Disability (LTD) insurance, then you could be eligible to receive a majority of your salary if you become unable to work. If an employee is hurt while they aren't at work, worker's compensation will not cover their injury or illness. Didn't seem to take my case seriously. Was very pessimistic because I'm younger. I understand it's just business but at the end of the day they didn't want to fight for me because it wasn't worth their time. I was also told that I "didn't want this" and that it was only $1200 a month. I didn't even know how to respond to that because 1200 a month sounds amazing when you are faced with the strong possibility of making 0 a month for the rest of your life. Mental illnesses are not taken seriously at all in the US. I feel without hope and without faith in our systems.
