James P. Ginley was raised in Walpole and attended local public schools until he entered the newly opened Xaverian Brothers High School where he graduated in 1968. He graduated from Boston College in 1973 with a Bachelor's Degree in American History and minors in Theology and Philosophy. During college he also attended the New England Institute where he graduated with high honors in 1972.

A licensed funeral director since 1973, he is the owner of the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home in Medway. In 1979, he was the youngest person ever elected to the Walpole Board of Selectman serving two terms until moving to Franklin.

The Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin was established in 1984 when James P. Ginley of Walpole purchased the Jackson Funeral Home from Walter G. Jackson. Mr. Ginley, the owner of Ginley Funeral Home in Walpole and recently married saw the purchase as a way to expand and complement his Walpole funeral home.
The Crowley Funeral Home was established in 1952 by the late Charles A. Crowley where he served the community of Medway with honor, integrity and a deep sense of caring. There not being any of Mr. Crowley's four children interested in taking over the funeral home and Mr. Crowley's desire to have his business continue to serve the greater Medway community with his same convictions, he asked James P. Ginley of Franklin to purchase the funeral home.
