Through his knowledge and leadership World Taekwondo Academy became one of the nations top schools where he produced thousands of champions, not just in sport but in life. His contributions helped Taekwondo become one of the largest sports and martial arts in the world. He dedicated his life to Taekwondo and we are fortunate to have instructors who were trained by him.
Even though Grandmaster Lee has passed, his legacy will contine to grow through all of his black belts and instructors. He is a man who impacted and inspired so many lives and his presence will be missed but never forgotten. Legends never die.

My father Grandmaster Byung Yul Lee founded the Academy in 1969 to help people learn the wonderful benefits of Taekwondo and Martial Arts. Throughout the years, we have produced thousands of champions in Sport and in life. Our REAL and PROVEN Taekwondo/Martial Arts program can turn anyone regardless of age, gender or previous experience into a more Powerful and Confident person.
We have students ranging from the age of 3 up to 70 years old. Our programs are designed for anyone with the will and heart to learn and challenge themselves to an exciting and fun activity. The B.B.C. is a program for students who's ultimate goal is to obtain a Black Belt. With consistant trainig, it could take you 3-4 years to recieve your Black Belt.
Taekwondo (/taIkwndo/) is a Korean martial art with a heavy emphasis on kicks. Taekwondo was developed during the 1940s and 1950s by various Korean martial artists as a blend of the indigenous Korean fighting styles of taekkyeon, gwonbeop, and subak, with influence from foreign martial arts, such as karate and Chinese martial arts.
In 1972 the Korea Taekwondo Association (KTA) Central Dojang opened in Seoul in 1972; in 1973 the name was changed to Kukkiwon. Under the sponsorship of the South Korean government's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism the Kukkiwon became the new national academy for taekwondo, thereby establishing a new "unified" style of taekwondo.
